I read that there is a walkway between WL and FW. How long does it take to walk between the two? We'll be staying at WL, but are planning to go to the Hoop De Doo, I thought it would be nice to walk. Thanks!

It is a nice walk, maybe 20-25 minutes long depending on your pace. It isn't lit though, so don't try it after dark.

Have a great trip!

Just make sure the boats are still running. The large MK boats will run for at least an hour after the parks close, and the smaller resort transportation boats usually stop around 10pm. My sister made the mistake of going to FW late at night to buy some goodies at the trading post (pre-VWL), and missed the last boat. She made the walk in the dark, but didn't like it one bit. She could have taken a bus to DTD and then one back to WL, but she didn't want to take that much time.

Actually there is a bus that runs from FW to WL, it is one of the FW internal buses so it runs until about 2am(picks up at Settlement, bus stop near the walkway)

You can encounter animals on the walk so definetly do not do it at night. My Mom and I did it one evening and it was just starting to get dark before we got to FW and we could hear all sorts of animal noises LOL!

Yes, I know, but you have to know my sister. She was so mad at herself for missing the boat that she was halfway back across the trail before she got spooked. She called me on her cell phone and talked the rest of the way back. Definitely a lesson learned on her part!
