hi, we are staying at wilderness lodge and were thinking about going to ft. wilderness for a little while. last time we stayed at wl we saw a bus that brought you to ft. wilderness, does anyone know if that bus takes you to the front of ft. wilderness or if it drops you off at the main center where all the dinner shows are. thanks :)

Take the boat from WL to Fort Widerness. It lets you off near the dinner show area. If you want hte petting zoo or campfire, take the internal bus after taking the boat. If you take a bus to FW you will need to transfer to an internal bus that will shuttel you to the back for the dinner shows.

Definetly take the boat for the above post. Also, it's faster and a more pleasant ride.

pirate: While we were staying at the WL a few years ago we rented bikes from???? I'm honestly not sure what this place was called but anyhow we rode from there to Ft. Wilderness along a nice quite trail and in no time we were there. It honestly couldn't have been more than a few minutes. Anyway we ended up right by the petting zoo and lo-and-behold there was the famous Minnie-Moo which was a cow that unfortunately is no longer with us, My kids had a blast as well as my wife and I. Not to sound silly but it is a memory I'll always cherish!!!! Chip@Janet.

When we went to FW to eat, we saw a bus for WL up in that area. So really either way would work about the same.

And either way, don't take any more buses for the petting zoo! It's just beyond the restaurant areas. While the campfire is quite walkable, you would want to get off the internal buses at the Meadows Trading Post if you take an internal bus after arriving at Pioneer Hall (where HDD and Trail's End are housed)
