WL to church?

Has anyone been to the Catholic church (Mary, Queen of the Universe) traveling from the WL? We were just trying to figure out how much time before Mass we would need to leave. We would be taking a taxi. Thank you.

It only takes about 10 minutes to get there from WL so it would depend on how early you want to get there. It is just off Disney Property outside of Downtown Disney.

sometimes traffic can be heavy getting into the church parking lot depending if it is a holiday. The shrine is beautful and worth a trip, we always visit at least one day of our vacation. It is not that far, but traffic can make it seem much longer. But that can depend on time of day and lights too. Just a heads up.

There have been times that it took me over 10 minutes just to get down that street where the church is... so allow yourself that extra time. I would say to leave your room at least 30 minutes before mass begins.

We would be going on a Sunday (no holiday) so if we were going to 9:30 Mass we should leave no later than 9:00, sound good? Thanks so much!

We usually go to Church on Saturday at the shrine. As we sat down at Church (at home today) I said to my husband "isn't it happy that people are going to be going to Church at Disney in 3 hours?"

I agree that the heaviest traffic is when you get near I4 and head to the Church. We always find that the 6 o'clock mass starts about 10 minutes late to allow everyone to get inside.

Do the taxis have car seats? We will be traveling with a 13 month old.

I don't know about a carseat, but budget 50.00 for the cab.

I don't know about carseats either, but $50.00 is too much to budget for that short a cab ride. Mary, Queen of the Universe Shrine is very close to the entrance of WDW. I would guess at $12-$15 each way tops. If you go on a Sunday there will be little or no traffic and it would be a very quick ride. I understand that Mears offers shuttle service from the WDW resorts for all the Masses except for (I believe) the 9:30am Mass.

I thought Mears had stopped doing the shuttle. Anyone use it recently?
