I've always had a "woods view" at WL in the past, but was not available when I gave in today and called about Thanksgiving week. "Standard" and "Courtyard" were available and I went with standard. Now I'm wondering what type view that may end up being. I don't know if it matters considering we will not be spending alot of time in the room. When AP rates come out, the difference will be about $31/night ($155 for the trip). Would love some input from those of you that have stayed in "standard". Thanks.

I am curious as well. I have a standard booked for the end of the month. Funny thing is, I have always booked standard at WL but never got to stay in standard. I hope the same holds true this trip but with FTP, I am not holding my breath.

The standard rooms over look the sides of the resort and are locates toward the front. Some of them over look the service/delivery area which I took a peek at on my last trip. It is a pretty large cement area with woods beyond. If you sit on your balcony and look directly out you will see trees. If you look down you will see the loading area. It appeared very clean but would not be my choice of location. On the other side of the resort there are some rooms that overlook the shorter buildings so the view is of the roofs, part of the villas and parkinglots but also of trees. There are a few of these on the low floors that look out directly at roofs.

BraveMom3 you sound like you live up to your name!!

I have stayed standard at WL twice. Once in a queen/bunkbed room and once in a 2 queen room. Both times I requested the rooms over the checking desk (lobby view outside the room door). The balcony view was of roof peaks from the Mercantile and bus stop walkway.

It was nice and quiet, but In both 6 day stays, I sat on the balcony once each trip. We were only in the room for naps and night time sleeping. My DD4 (at the time) and DNephew6(at the time) loved the bunk beds.

Hoping for good codes - maybe I can upgrade to a woods view in January, if it's available!

If you have any more specific questions, feel free to PM me or post them.

Hope I helped.

Colette

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to stay with the standard room since it will save me $150-$250 (depending on discount that may become available) for my trip. I can use that money to cover tickets for MVMCP and food!
