WL standard rooms for 12/06 already gone?!

I just called and am holding a ressie for 9 nights at the WL w/MYW & dining-but was told that there were no standard rooms-woods view was the lowest option. I tried to book on this past Monday night and the computer didn't have anything available at that time yet-I can't believe that in that amount of time (from Mon to Fri), ALL standard rooms for 12/06 would already be booked. WOW!

I tried booking for the week right before Christmas 12/16-12/22 and nothing comes avail for WL or CR. I can't believe that many people have already booked for next year.

I was told you can only book 500 days in advance which means that for today you can book 12/11/06 but not beyond that. Maybe that is why it is showing no availability.

Woodview, court yard & suites at the WL lodge were available for 12/1-12/10, but no standard.

I like the woodview rooms, but I was secretely hoping to book a standard and receive an upgrade...wishful thinking, I know!

I have booked over 2 years in advance, with the understanding that the rate will change, and you know that won't be going down. I don't understand the 500 days in advance. this was a while ago that I did this because we have been DVC owners for over 10 years.

I think standard view rooms at WL are just hard to come by. I've tried to get one for the past few trips and never was able to. I won't pay for a view, so if I can't get standard, I stay elsewhere. I was finally able to get a standard view at WL for May when the 2006 rates were released. I typically don't like to book that early, but I figured I'd better take it while it was available. Have you tried calling? You may have better luck that way.

We'e booked 2 years in advance before too but this year we were told 500 days was the limit. I started working with a TA and asked her to check to see if she could reserve what we want for Christmas of 2006 and she was told the same thing. It must be something new.

Don't give up on a standard.

When we first booked our room at the WL (through AAA), only courtyard view was available. I really didn't want to pay the extra, but the family wanted to stay at the WL this time badly.

I made the reservation, but asked the AAA rep to keep trying for a standard; she said they occasionally will become available. Sure enough, 10 days later, she was able to book my standard room.

Just keep checking back, and you might be able to snag one!

We could book June 2006 at WL - courtyard view in June 2005.
Just keep trying - people do move their reservations due to timing, family preferences change and deals they seem to get (AP, AAA, post cards).

I would keep trying. We wanted a Deluxe Sav. view for our trip in 2006 and we we tried to book all I could get was Conceirge but in conceirge they don't guarantee a savannah view and that is our whole reason for staying at AKL. I called back this morning and was able to get our room. If not, we were going to switch to the poly, which is cheaper for us b/c we weren't going to spend that much money and not be guaranteed a savannah room.

I just wanted to jump in and confirm that they do now have the 500 day limit in place. It's a fairly recent change but you can only book 500 days out. I have been trying for a particular suite for a client and have to call daily to try to add a day.

So if you are trying for a check in beyond 12/13 it comes back as no availability. So Ash&Abby's Mom, you can book your first night on Wed of this upcoming week or wait and book your whole trip on 8/9.

I would definately keep checking. I just booked Dec 1-10 and the CM had trouble getting what I wanted at CR. Everything else popped up except Tower MK view. Finally after about 1/2 hour of her trying, the computer let her book it. I was on pinns and needles until she said those magic words!

So after all of this, we decided to go for a woods view since we want the bunks and you can't get bunks with a standard view.

Glad to hear you got what you wanted. Just remember that bunk beds are NOT guaranteed.
