We will be staying at the WL for the first time in March and I have booked a standard room. I read that these rooms are in the North wing floors 4, 5 &6 and also 4th floor over the front desk. Which location is best for quiet? I heard that the lobby rooms can be noisy and I also heard that the North wing rooms can hear truck traffic at night?

We will be traveling with 2 young children and grandparents. It is most important to me that we get 2 connecting rooms. It seems like the 2 locations are a toss up in terms of the noise. Should I just take a chance by not requesting a certain area and just take what they give me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Denise

we were in the main "tower" at WL, had connecting rooms, looked out on the rooftops, and weren't bothered by the lobby noise at all. The dinner bell at Whispering Canyon ends around 10:00pm, but it was a faint ringing. rooms 4095 & 4096

On the WL thread, 999 ghosts recommends the 4th floor lobby rooms as the best of the standard rooms. 999 ghosts works at the WL. We booked standard rooms in summer of 2002. I faxed a request and asked for connecting rooms one with bunk beds in the area above the lobby. I then asked if this was not possible the a quiet room because my mother who was with us is battling cancer and would need to rest undisturbed. When we arrived we were surprized with an upgrade to pool view rooms. They were great. The whole week we were there I never heard nor saw the famed delivery trucks anywhere around the resort. The WL is absolutely fantastic! Enjoy.
