WL review...just got back...it was OK

I'm planning on booking WL for a trip next year, and everything I have read still says "refrigerator on request". Maybe they haven't put them in yet? Does anyone know for sure? :confused3

Refrigerators should be in every moderate and deluxe room, and have been in any one I've been in over the past year. I haven't heard anyone else say that they haven't had one, this is part of what should be in each and every moderate/deluxe.

Thanks for the review. I was lamenting about not staying at the WL during our December trip so I am feeling much better. I am glad you mentioned the bunkbed thing. I have a friend that would be really upset if they had a room with BBs--she is an emergency room nurse and always comments about the number of broken bones attributed to BBs.

Thanks for the review!

Actually, you are incorrect. Many, many people have reported this issue at WL in the past year. There was quite a lengthy thread posted here several months ago. You can search for it, if you'd like.

To the poster that asked, I would put a request in upfront. Can't hurt, can only help - kwim?

I will look - but I do book lots of guests into the WL, and so far there has never been an issue. Nor on any other board that I've participated in. So again, I am surprised - but if there is an issue with some rooms, it really needs to be addressed as that is one of the benefits of staying in a mod or deluxe.

That is really odd - I've never had a guest (or a friend or anyone else I've known) go to any of the deluxes in the past year - or the moderates for that matter, and not get a fridge. They were installed quite some time ago. I wonder what happened in this case.

We have been to the Poly twice this past year and didn't have a fridge. We were there last month and there was no fridge. No big deal though. We just called housekeeping and they brought one up right away.

Thanks Skiwee, I can tell guests and such that occasionally there may not be a fridge in the room. Again, I'm surprised, and the latest I saw on a search about the WL fridges was around April. They are supposed to be in all the rooms (except the values), and I'm curious as to why some rooms don't have them by now.

I have seen warnings on some BB's that the minimum age reccommended is 7yo.

I wouldn't want my young children in those things either.

It wouldn't have gone downhill at all if you didn't jump all over me every time I said something. Especially when I *thought* I was saying something nice by saying that your thread will help others. Sheesh.

Robinb, I didn't take your posts to be negative at all. I thought you were being quite helpful, and I'm appreciative of your responses and all the great info you post for all of us.

I haven't been to WL since December of 2002 but our room was in pretty good shape then. I know I've seen several posts recently about the lodge being in need of refurbishment. I'm going to guess it should happen soon. We stayed at PO Riverside once right before a rehab was done, and our room was in the same kind of shape the OP described....scuffed walls indoors and also in outer corridors. After the rehab, it was just gorgeous again.

Anyone heard any rumors about when they might start refurbishing the rooms again? I usually go for the GF when staying in a MK resort, but once every few years it's nice to have that "woodsy" theme for a change. It's such a great resort :goodvibes

Hi there! Thanks for your review.

I think we had the same room two years ago. Bell hop took us up and we went straight down back to the lobby for another room.

Your situation would be different though. You had already been to one room and also resort was full. One can only take so much of the room merry go round.

Please do not give up on the WL. Sometime in the future please try this resort again. So many of the rooms have a "better" view and are in better shape.

Cheers and thanks again for your review.

Back to fridges for a minute. My family had three rooms in WL in October, all 5th floor courtyard. Not one had a fridge. No big deal, we just called housekeeping. Mine was delivered in about 5 minutes. Dsister's took about 30 minutes and Dparents about an hour. It was a busy check-in Saturday, so I think the housekeepers had other things to do. But, just to know, being in a moderate or deluxe doesn't guarantee that you won't have to ask for your fridge.

It's a good thing that Disney has so many resorts, so everyone can find the spot that makes them happiest!

PS - My Dsis thought that bunk beds were perfect for her boys--ages 2 and barely 4. They fell out a few times, but I guess they're pretty hardy. To each his/her own...

Actually, they first got a room without bunkbeds, despite requesting bunk beds. We had no such request and got a room with bunkbeds. We switched, so it was an easy fix, but you have to wonder. Why give people with no request the bunkbeds and people who want bunkbeds two regular beds? Wouldn't it have been just as easy to assign them the other way... :confused3

Just rambling... Sorry.
