I have the Courtyard view with the AP discount booked for Feb.7-14th for my honeymoon....Will I be happy? We stayed 2 years ago at the All Star Movies and had a wonderful time. Does anyone have any tips for us? I'm hopping we can get dinner reservations for somewhere nice on our first night there. How easy is it to get to the Grand FL or the Poly from the WL? Also is it difficult to get to the Animal Kingdom Lodge? I'm looking at these places for possible meals. Thanks for all your help!

Hi Nicole,
You will love the lodge. It is to relaxing. Check out this thread for lots of excellent info on the 1st page:

With your courtyard view, you'll want to add a note requesting an "inner" view, else you could overlook the quiet pool & Villa's. Though it is a lovely view, I do not think it warrents the courtyard price.

WL has lots of wonderful transportation options. We enjoyed it much more than the transportation at our CR stays.

Green Boat - largest - goes WL/FW/MK (any order), starts abt 1/2 hour before MK openings & runs abt 1 hour (not to sure abt the ending time) after MK closes.

Blue Boat - smaller - goes WL/CR/FW (any order). Runs 7 am - 10 pm. If you have an early PS at MK, take this boat then walk to monorail to MK. You can also take this boat & monorail to GF or Poly.

Bus goes to TTC and FW. You can take this bus then walk to Poly.

Buses to other parks and DTD.

To get to GF, you can also boat to MK, then boat to GF.

AKL, I've never done this route. You could boat to MK, then catch the AKL bus. Or bus to AK, then bus to AKL. If it's late, then you might need to use DTD as your transfer point.

For a lovely 1st night dinner, consider the CA Grill at the top of the CR. If you time it right, you can watch the fireworks.

Also, try a meal at Trails End. It's a great buffet at FW. Just a few minutes walk from the boat dock.

Enjoy!

YOU ARE SOOOOOOOO LUCKY to have this be your Honeymoon choice. My hubby and I have been married for 27 yrs and so wish we couod have gone there when we were younger. In any event it is our place of choice whenever we have a spare couple of days and certainly for important occasions. May you experience the true joy, peace, exhileration and happiness there that we do.

I soooooooo agree! We were upgraded to this view from our Woods View ressie, and although it was nice, I would not pay courtyard rates for this view. JMHO.

You will LOVE the lodge! It is our favorite place, so far. If you can, I'd also request a king bed, but I know the king rooms are handicap accessible so you won't get a tub. Just a roll in shower.

It is easy to get to the monorail resorts from WL. There's a boat that goes to the Contemporary then you can hop the monorail to the Polynesian or GF. We had a wonderful meal at the California Grill at the Contemporary a few weeks ago. And if you time it right, you can see MK fireworks while you're dining.

Have a magical honeymoon!!!

While I'm certainly not a WL expert, I do know that not all the king rooms are handicap accessible - because I just stayed in a "regular" one! :teeth: We stayed in room 6037, non-smoking, great courtyard view, with a king bed and regular bathroom (tub w/ shower curtain). We loved it!
