WL question: Is the woods view "worth it"??

Which view would you suggest?

  • Standard (its not worth it pay more for the view)

  • Woods view (its worth the extra $$)

  • Courtyard view (only the best!)

We're planning a short anniversary trip to WDW for this July and DH would like to try the WL.

Out of the 3 different possible views, is the "woods view" worth? Is the standard view that much worse than the woods view? And how much better is the courtyard view? Is it worth the additional cost?? Thanks in advance :)

yes, Yes, YES!!

IF you request a woods view and get a room on the North side of the lodge, and get on the 5th or 6th floor (maybe even the 3rd or 4th), you should have at least a partial view of the Magic Kingdom and its fireworks, as well as the Contemporary from your balcony.

We loved seeing Wishes from our balcony at night, and watching the monorail enter the CR from across the lake.

Take standard if you can get it! It's cheaper, and you have a very good chance of getting woods view for free anyway when you check-in. Of course we aren't big balcony hangers so to us it doesn't matter. ;)

Yes!! I say courtyard view!! Oh my gosh! It is sooo worth it! (Well...I got a good discount the last time and getting another good discount this Feb) The view is just breathtaking! And to watch EWP at night is a bonus and you can also view a little bit of the fireworks from MK if you got a higher floor facing MK. If there was no discount offer, then I would opt for woods view. You can the gyser too..neat!

The "Woods View" is fine if you are on the north side, close to the lake, and on the 5th floor. From that section of the hotel you can see "Wishes." Otherwise, I would chose the "Courtyard View."

HI, I have a "woods view" booked for the weekend of the 17th in April (this is our Anniversary) how far in advance should I request an upper floor with an MK view?? I called last week and booked this with an AP rate but it took 3 calls and a very long on-hold wait before I got through! Thanks, Joan

Take the standard room. There's always the possibility you'll get upgraded. We had the woods view the last 2 visits and it's only because it was the only type of rooms discounted when we called. We had the last woods view room in the hall and if you turned your head to the left, you saw the standard rooms and both rooms looked at the delivery trucks. If I had paid full price for this room I would not be happy. We are there next week and again have a woods view (only room view available when booking). I would take a standard room, but they don't ever seem to have them available at a CM discount.

At WL I would take at least a woods view. While were were there, I was in one of the lounges on front side of the lodge. Got a glimpse out of a small window of the parking lot. UGHHHHHH!!!!!! Ruined!!! The last thing you want to see out of that beautiful lodge is a parking lot-trust me on this!

We have stayed at WL at least once every year it has been open and I'd say absolutely the standard view. Ask for a room as high as you can get, on the north west side of the building. You'll get the WDW view without the extra cost. We were upgraded in October and got a room will a view of some bushes and the side of the Vacation Club. On the other hand I'd say the view of the lake and pool from the courtyard rooms might be worth it. I guess it depends on how much time you spend in your room.
