WL or POR ?

Hi all,

I'm planning a vacation for Janurary and trying to decide whether to stay at Wilderness Lodge or at Port Orleans Riverside. It will be myself, my wife, 2 kids and my parents. So, it'll be 6 in total, so we'll need two rooms. I can get a great FL resident rate on both POR- $84 WL-$109. Keep in mind that We'll only be going to MK but may go to DD at night. I had a great time a POR last month and am wondering is WL really worth the extra $$? Thanks in advance.

I stayed at the WL last year and the POR this year, I love both resorts. I think that the themeing at the POR is just as nice as the WL, and I only had one problem with the transportation at POR. I would recommend the POR for the savings, but that is just my personal opinion.

WL way more than $25 better than POR, and there's a cool boat ride to MK.

- magnificent theming
- great restaurants
- peaceful grounds
- great pool
- only resort on Bay Lake
- there's something fun there for all age groups.
- easy access to MK, by boat
- nature trails, and access to FW fun
- water pageant

Somehow, I get the impression they designed this resort specifically to complement Adventure land at MK. Walt would have loved WL.

I vote for the WL too!! To me, it's worth the extra dollars and then some. I like the convience of all the corridors being indoors and the hotel as one unit and not spread out like the moderates are. Just my opinion. I think you will be happy no matter where you stay!!

I'd go with WL, which is my preference for our next WDW trip, right now in the planning stages for 2005, my friends are renewing their vows, he's a big Epcot fan, she doesn't care as long as she's at WDE, so they may stay at BW, but I'm going for WL, especially after reading the WL threads, I feel like Majestic, Kimmar, Florida Cat & Aspiring Cindy, to name a few, are friends!!

We were a little dissapointed with WL , the rooms were smaller than I thought...but I did like the boat ride!

POR for the pool and boat ride to DTD

save the money and use it for an ILLUMINATIONS CRUISE they will never forget it!! especially since you have a lot family going!

WL all the way. I would never pick a moderate over a Deluxe.

Have stayed at both. LOVE Wilderness Lodge - worth the extra money all the way!

We were scheduled for PO in 2001 when it was closed and we got moved (no upcharge) to WL. They have spoiled us. We love the pool and the general ambiance of the WL. We will be there the first week in Dec.
We have stayed at PO before and it was really our favorite moderate resort but I guess we have "gotten above our raising" as Mama used to say.
