We have always stayed at POR or POFQ. We are booked at POFQ again for June, but I'm wondering if we should try WL. I am most concerned with transportation issues. Also, is the bathroom and vanity area a lot more private at WL? I like to get up before the kids and get ready, but it is hard to do at PO because there is no private area.

We have stayed at WL least six different times and only had slow transportation one day. We love the boats and the proximity to MK. The bathrooms are set apart by a section which is indented and hidden by the wall of the bed room. You have a great deal of privacy if you want it. If these are the only things keeping you from the Lodge.....go for it. If we had not just gotten a rate at 1/2 what the Lodge would cost we would be headed there in two weeks and not the moderate we have booked. We have found the Lodge to be our lttle piece of heaven here on earth. Have a wonderful trip.

We don't usually stay on-site, but we are for our upcoming June Anniversary trip and we had to make this exact decision. We were either staying at WL for $139 or POFQ for $109 (AP rate). We decided on POFQ. I read too many reviews stating that noise from the lobby was a problem at WL. I also didn't really want to hassle with having to park far away or pay for valet parking at WL (we rent a car and drive ourselves most of the time). It didn't look like WL had good food court for breakfast.

We liked that POFQ has a good food court for breakfast and we can also go to POR for something different. We also like being able to park closer to our room. As we're hoping to NOT be near the pool, we don't think we'll have a problem with noise outside our room (planning on mid-day naps!). There are just the 2 of us and no kids on this trip, so I can't comment on the bathroom/vanity area. But I believe that POFQ has a curtain separating the bathroom.

We have stayed at both. I really like the close location of WL. It is a beautiful resort. I didn't find the parking lot far away. I also prefer the queen size beds. The lobby is beautiful and is really a nice place to hang out. The pool is nice, too. There isn't a food court but there is a restraunt that has similar foods to a food court. Whispering Canyon restraunt is one of our family's favorite sit down restraunts. He have eaten there many times and the prices are reasonable for what you get. You also get a patio or a balcony at WL. I have to say that the Poly is my favorite, I love being on the monorail... but for the price you can't beat WL. We are staying at the VWL on our next trip.

We absolutely love POFQ and will be going back in early July...BUT for not many more $$$s, the WL blew us away last year (no pun intended...we got chased home by Hurricane Charlie). What a magnificent structure, with jaw-dropping beauty both inside and out. As with all Deluxes, on a rainy day you can never leave indoors and still have a great time.

For the late summer months, we would not recommend the transportation...at times the boat was frustratingly slow (though when it's cool the leisurely pace is a good thing). Busses were fine.

My advice is give WL a try...it could easily become your favorite resort.

Transportation from the WL via boat is not only satisfactory, it is an added benefit for your children. It is a smooth build-up to the excitement ahead and a relaxing "calm-down" after a long day at the parks. Your kids will see it as another ride and you will relax in the transition.
