I've never stayed at WL or WLV. We're planning another BCV trip next Feb. But my AP is good through June and is burning a whole in my pocket! Thinking of a short trip to WL with AP rate of around $135 standard view.

Family doesn't know about this yet, and I'm not sure if it will actually happen, but DW, DS and DD haven't seemed interested in WL. We really enjoyed AKL (beautiful resort, animals...) and CR (location, monorail...) with AP discounts. I'd like try WL for its theming. I could go for AKL or CR again, but please give your thoughts on the WL. It looks pretty great to me! Thanks!

We've been to VWL twice, with another trip planned this year. We love it! The all around atmosphere can't be beat and we love that it is off the beaten path. Other things we love about it: the boat that goes directly to MK, the pool, and the proximity to Fort Wilderness. We like to rent bikes and head over there for the petting zoo. Also at night they have the campfire which is fun for kids.

The rooms are beautiful (don't know about WL, but had friends stay there and they were happy).

I say go for it, you won't regret a visit there!

My Wife and I were fortunate enough to get a studio at VWL this past Xmas. We just love the place. If we ever add on again, VWL will be our first choice -We own at BCV. We have 8 nights reserved for the coming (soon I hope) Xmas at BCV, but will call day-by-day to try to get 4 nights switched to VWL. No finer place for Xmas; Xmas Eve was magical w/ Santa and the characters in the lobby. We also stayed at WVL for 6 days June '04 after 6 days with our son and family at BCV. We enjoyed both of course, but the time by ourselves at VWL was so relaxing. Transportation seemed very good. We had a car last summer, but didn't use it much. Also took the boat over to Ft. Wilderness Campground for breakfast - no characters, but good buffet. We highly recommend Wilderness Lodge.

Stay there,
You won't regret it. Been there twice. Working on 3 in May.The kids actually visited it in July while we were staying at BWV. My daughter walked into the lobby and made a real sappy face. She said "mom, I really miss this place"! We stayed for lunch at Roaring Forks. Took a swim and headed back to the MK by boat. Love the boat ride. Can't wait to return.

We love the WL. The lobby is absolutely breathtaking, and the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom is fun. The themeing puts you right in the Pacific Northwest. Great pool, too.

VWL is one of our favorites also. We love renting the water mice and cruising around Bay Lake. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and renting bikes or just taking a walk is very enjoyable. The pool is nice too. The theming is spectacular. Definitely a great vacation!! :flower:

DH and I did that in 1997...a quick 4 day weekend at the WL because we got such a great deal on the room and the airfare.

Be careful...we bought into the DVC that weekend, so the "quick, cheap weekend" ended up costing a ton of money!!!!!! ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Good for you!

WL is beautiful. We really love the lodge, the theme, the atmosphere. It's nice to be on the water as well. This is not an option at AKL. You can rent boats and bikes. Stroll over to FW. The electric water pageant comes by at night. It's easy access to MK. You are so close to the "action" but you feel like your miles away. This resort really puts CR to shame. If you really like the theme of AK, I'm sure you'll also like WL. They have that dark, rustic feel to them. WL is really a nice combination of the two you like! Close to the "action" yet the feel of being completely removed.

That's funny! I can see that happening.

We stayed in a FW Cabin and I loved it. DW thought it was cramped. My feet did hang off the bed! We had lunch at FW Lodge and it is beautiful. I don't remember where we ate. It was a sit down casual lunch. We've enjoyed every place we stayed, even CBR this past Christmas. It was kind of odd being in a Carribean theme with freezing temperatures!

Thanks for the input everyone. I get excited just thinking of a possible summer trip (which would also be a Happy Birthday to me trip!).
