WL Jan-Feb, anyone else!

Tara,
I wouldn't want to change in mid trip--I would be tired and just wanting to stay put. I have never been to Poly or anywhere for that fact. You will just have to decide. I would say when you get to the lodge maybe take a trip over to Poly and compare the two...maybe you can decide that way. Or, just enjoy the lodge and have an excuse to come back to the Poly.
Good Luck
wildernesslodgelover,
I am getting one annual pass (know how that is). So maybe I will look into the dining card. How do I find out about it? Do you know?
Sounds great--I know there are already disounts with the AP...are they much different?

WildernessLodgeLover, we got the S & D's special Jan/Feb weekend rate of $159 plus a room upgrade and 2 pm checkout (courtesy of Dreams Unlimited and the DIS board. You can check it out on dreamsunlimitedtravel.com.) AP rate was $189 so I think it's a pretty good bargain.

Personally I loved splitting our stay in December, although I wish we'd had more time at AKL and less time at the FW cabins. We packed two smaller bags with everything we'd need for our days at AKL and never touched he bigger suitcase we brought with the rest of our stuff until we got to the cabins. Worked out great and we love to sample different places. This is a habit of ours since we spent weeks in Europe, 3 days here and 3 days there, so it's become of part of our travel philosophy. I can see why others would think it's giant pain! Once we find our favorite WDW resort, maybe we'll settle in but in the meantime I have to try them all. :cool1:

THe only downside to this short trip/WL stay is that we're not going to have a car and I have to figure out how to move between resorts. It's looking like it's just going to be my 4-year-old and me so we won't have much stuff.

Dchef....I wish I knew how to post a link, but I do not, sorry. you will not believe the list if restaurants that accept the card! Basically ALL resorts and resort lounges and some counter service places at the parks. Also, free valet parking when dining at a resort. Plus half off Pleasure Island entrance. there are some other perks I am forgetting. Anyway..if you do a search on this board (or actually, do it on the restaurant board) I am sure you will find threads that have the link. Or you could even just post a thread and ask.

Jenjer-Thanks for letting me know. that is a great deal. I do want to check out the Dolphin or Swan one day, but I am afraid I will miss the Disney "theming." But I have never even set foot on S&D property so I do need to check that out cuz so many people rave about them. Alas...i JUST found out yesterday that my beloved Dining card is not accepted at S&D restaurants as they are not Disney owned. And I so wanted to check out "Fresh" for breakfast and Kimonos and Blue Zoo for dinner!

If you get a chance to try Fresh for breakfast, I think you should. i have heard rave reviews!
