I've read many posts and I keep hearing different stories, some say you can not see fireworks, some say south wing, some say north wing. Does anyone really know?? Help, this is the 1st time my husband has been, he is all about the view. I really want to make this a family tradition.

i enjoy a good view too, when i was there a few weeks ago, i couldnt see the mk fireworks, but i was either in the pool or overlooking the villas. i think there might be some rooms overlooking the mk area...???maybe??
hopefully someone can chime in, i m interested in this too.

If you request woods view, north wing, is it possible you will be overlooking the parking lot? Heard that was possible, and don't want to get stuck. :confused3

We stayed at WL two years ago and watched the fireworks from our room at least three times. We had a Woods View room. If you are using an agent or calling CRO, ask for Woods View room with a view of the Castle. I think you need to be on the 5th or 6th floors - not sure about the 4th floor.

Other than the fireworks at night, it's not much of a daytime view, just so you know. The castle is very tiny, off in the distance. Depending on when you go, I wouldn't go out on the balcony because there are tons of mosquitos because of the water below.

But for Wishes, it's awesome.

We had a great view of the fireworks from Standard View a few years back. Plus, they were doing grad nights the week we were there so we also got bonus late night fireworks.

Just wanted to thank everyone for your responses to the Fireworks from WL question. We are so excited about our trip, we are driving down on Feb. 4th and staying outside DW and checking in the next morning. Hopefully we'll be on the Safari by 9:30am on the 5th. I'll be wearing my Lime Green, please say hello, if you are there. Wish us luck on missing the Super Bowl traffice through Jacksonville, FL.

I guess you'll be driving down I-95, do you know about what time you will be reaching the Jacksonville area...to avoid all the downtown traffic (SuperBowl)just take I-295 South right after you pass the airport, and stay on I-295 until it rejoins I-95 well south of town, this would be the best route.

When I have a Woods View booked I request North-Wing 5th floor over looking the otter pond. (only a portion of the sixth floor is smoking optional these rooms are located in the far North Wing) out of 728 rooms at the Lodge only about 30 are smoking optional.

Beckie,

Thanks for the driving info. We won't be around Jax. until 10pm on the 4th. I'm planning on taking 295. About the ML smoking rms. I made all kinds of requests (north wing, view of Castle, bunk beds, crib, Highest floor.) I can't remember if I said non-smoking. I'm afraid to make anymore request. You're not from Tallahassee are you?

No not Tallahassee, we are just south of Jacksonville, in Orange Park if you take I-295 you will pass right by our little town. Last exit before you go over the Buckman Bridge it's about 3 1/2 miles long.

Is there anywhere outside that would have a good fireworks view? We're staying in the villas and would walk down to the marina or pool or where ever we need to - to see the fireworks.

How about from FW?

we watched the fireworks from the WL beach a few times this past Oct when we stayed at the VWL
some of the trees at the Contemp were damaged by the hurricanes making the fireworks more visible

We watched the fireworks form the CM parking lot one night. Not sure if we were supposed to be there :rolleyes1 but this really nice CM working the front desk told us we could go there.
