We went this past July and stayed at CSR. Took DD7 and DH. We had a great time. We aare ready to go back again but we want to take DS who will be 2 in April and we want to stay part of the time at CSR and part of the time at WL. We want to stay at WL when we go to MK and Epcot. What we can't decide --- do we want to go back in July (we handled the heat and people) or do we want to go the week of Thanksgiving wo see the Xmas decorations too. Any suggestions?

If you've never seen the Christmas Decorations I'd go in November to see them. It's really beautiful.

I have to vote for November. Thanksgiving time is nice, but very crowded. A great time to go is during the first 2 weeks of December. Crowds are very light and enjoyable. The resorts and parks are decorated to the hilt and there is so much to see and do, such as the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT (this is a must see), different Santa's at the various World Showcase pavilions, the decorations and gingerbread designs at the various deluxe resorts (make sure to get over to see the one's at the Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club resorts). This past visit the temperatures were in the mid to high 70's to low 80's during the day during almost the entire trip. The last weekend I was there it did get cool and a high of about 60 degrees. The Wilderness Lodge is a great resort and is absolutely beautiful decorated for the holidays. I saw several families taking pictures in front of the tree in the lobby to send with their hiliday cards. Make sure to take some time and relax in the lobby. Don't forget to get the free refill mugs (used mine several times a day). For a fun time, rent a couple of watermice and head over to the lake by the Magic Kingdom. When you check in, don't forget to ask about being the flag family (but don't be surprised if there is no/limited availability -- I was there for 8 nights and the only day available was the day I checked out and since that was going to be at 4am, that took care of that). Oh, and don't forget to get the hidden Mickey list from them too.

Below is a link to the many pictures I took on my last trip and there are several of the various decorations and resorts (including gingerbread displays from the Floridian, BC, YC, BW, Contemporary & AK Lodge). There are also pics of the Wilderness Lodge & the room I had. The views from this room were AMAZING!!!

drtaylor,

My last trip to WDW was in November we arrived on the 15th and all the Christmas decorations where up. The WL at Christmas is so beautiful a must see.
The weather was so nice DN went swimming everyday, (we are Native Floridians so cool isn't an option when it comes to swimming) I find that July is too to muggy and humid for me.

Either way have a GREAT TRIP

November for sure!!!!!! We just got back from WL for Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed from the Wed before-Mon morning. Can you believe that there was NO line for check-in at 10:30 am the day before Thanksgiving. The resort, pool, and transportation never seemed crowded and the lodge was beautiful. I would do MK and AK while at WL because the bus to AK only stops at GF which is right on the way and was very quick. My mom took the bus to Epcot and said it took forever! We drove to Epcot and MGM. We stayed away from MK Thurs-Sat. MK EE on Sunday was great. Got to do a whole lot!!!! The decorations are worth it and the crowds are very manageable with arriving early and having a good plan. Be prepared for all weather, though. It got very cold the last couple of days and it rained very hard one night for about ten mintues (the ONLY time we did not have our ponchos with us).
