WL discount 08 questions

Did they offer 4/3 for WL last year in Jan.? What was rack rate for mid Jan. early Feb. and does anyone know what AP rates for WL were at this time of year in 08?

Sorry I can't help on 2008, but this past January (2009) they had the 4/3. Here's what the Disney info said about it:

From now through December 20,2008, if you book a four-night, four-day non-discounted Magic Your Way package, you'll get three additional nights (including tickets) for free.

The offer is good for stays on most nights January 4-April 4 and April 19-June 27, 2009.

As a bonus, if you travel between January 4 and March 29, 2009 you'll get a $200 Disney Gift Card that you can use to pay some of the costs during your stay. It's also valid at Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Store and disneyshopping.com.

Packages start at net prices of $46 per person per day for a family of four in a standard room at a Value Resort from January 4-February 12 (total package price $1,271). For the same Jan. 4-Feb. 12, 2009 dates at a Deluxe the example shows total package price $1,981 (a $848 savings). Those prices are based on families of two adults, one junior and one child, and are based on the non-discounted price of a 7-night/7-day Magic Your Way package.

Packages for other resorts and lengths of stay are also available.

Passholder rates for January 1 – February 12, 2009 have been released, with value resorts starting at just $49 per night, moderate resorts starting at $89 per night. Select deluxe resorts (Wilderness and Animal Kingdom Lodges) starting at $144 per night and studio accommodations at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa starting at $179 per night. The rates at value and deluxe resorts are valid January 2–15 and January 19 – February 12. Moderate resorts are available January 4–17 and January 21 – February 12. Saratoga Springs is available January 1 – February 12.

*WL Rack rate Jan 1-15 & Jan 19-Feb 12 Std view was $240, Woods $265, Woods Bunk $290, Woods CY $285, CY BB $315.

I booked a WL standard view Jan 29-31 last year for $144 with the AP discount. I think they came out in October?

Thank you for this information, this is just what I was looking for this past weekend.

We were hoping to book a room @ WL in late May 2010.

Do you know if the $144 an estimate of what the rooms were after you booked the 7 for 4 nights?

I priced it for next year @ just 4 nights @ WL, w/the Magic Your Way package only & 5 day tickets & hopper pass only and it was $1948. It sounds pretty close.

We can't wait, I retired from one job and moved to another, and we didn't get to have a vacation this year, and with a kid in college & no more credit cards , I'm tired and I'm ready to go home to the WL for a nice 7 day vacation.

AP rate is discounted price, 4/3 would be 4 nights at rack rate for the time of year you are going. Example: Rack for Jan. is $240 per night standard room. That would be 4X $240+tax for the 7 nights, plus, if you have an AP you only have to buy a 1 day ticket per guest for the package and you can use them next time you go or save until you renew and have them applied to your next AP. I find with only DH and self, AP rate comes out better for us unless they offer the $200 gift card.
