We just booked WL and all that was available for our dates were Courtyard View. I was wondering which parts of the resort have the best rooms for this view?

Are there any rooms/areas that we should try and get at check in? Is it better to ask for an area before hand? What about bunk beds? I do not think the TA asked for bunk beds... should we have it noted or will we be able to get them that day?

We will be driving over from the Tampa area first thing in the morning, so should get there no later than 10 and it will be a Sunday.

Thank you.

Have the TA ask for the bunkbeds on your reservation.

We like the rooms in "the bears face". The room #'s are all odd #'s and are only on the 4th and 5th floors. Rooms 5069 thru 5079 and 4069 thru 4079 are the room numbers and ask for one with bunkbeds. Others may have suggestions also.

If you PM me with your email addy, I will send you a pic of the view from our room...5041. I asked for the Bear's face, but I actually liked this room better because it was down the hall a bit...it was kind of over the AP restaurant. It looked straight out to the pool and lake and was great to watch the EWP every night at 9:35 pm.

Just make sure you don't get the 6th floor...the 6th floor has solid balconies...a solid wall instead of slatted railings. You must stand up to see over the wall. I would prefer a lesser view with a "regulart" balcony that a spectacular view on the 6th floor.

Looking at the map of the WL, there are no room numbers or descriptions. Is there a map anywhere that shows where rooms are or where 'bear face' is?

Thanks!

What's I think is meant by "Bear Face" are the rooms on the inner courtyard that look straight out at the lake. These rooms are at 90 degrees to those courtyard rooms out on the wings. All in all their view is superior (my opinion). Not a whole lot of these in relation to the total number of courtyard view rooms. 4041 was a "bear face" room. (pics in earlier post). On the map, 4041 would be on the main building, nearer the north wing, looking out on the courtyard. Another perspective is that the room was right atop Artist Point.

(Bear Face comes from the look of the lodge from the water. The windows and layout of the inner courtyard make the lodge look like a bear.)

Also don't confuse the "bear face" rooms with the rooms that are on the end of each wing. Those too look straight out on the lake, but have limited or no courtyard view.

Hope this helps

Thank you, yes it does! LOL.

One last question: How hard will it be to get the connecting rooms? I will give up the bunk beds to get the connecting rooms... or is it fairly easy to get both if we arrive early in the day?

We stayed in Room 6121 - bunk bed room. From what I understand, bunks are limited, so to assure connecting, you might have to give up bunks. I loved our location....Had wanted 5th floor (someone suggested it, for the views), but this was great for us.....here are some views......

We were newbies to the WL and like it very much.

Hey there Carol....Our room was just out of range of this shot to the right. The building turns out again one more time before the long North wing run, with another set of rooms similar to those in the right center of this pic. In the right center portion of the pic, there are 4 rooms per floor, facing outtoward the pool and the lake. Our was first on the left, over top of the restaurant.

The view from your room is spectacular as well!!
