For those of you who have stayed at WL (or any) concierge level room, what type of things can they do for you?
I know about the lounge and snacks and that they can help set up PS arrangements. Is there anything else? What are some things people have asked the concierge to do for them?
Also, what is an appropriate tip for the concierge staff?
Thanks.
Terri

We stayed there about a year ago. We are also staying in May.

They didn't send any pre-planning information then like they do now so we didn't know what to expect when we got there.

They can help with PS's, arrange for any special things you may need if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, etc.

We enjoyed it very much.

I have already been contacted by the itinerary planning staff and received some planning forms in the mail. I'm afraid we don't have much planned while we are there that they can help us with.
Enjoy.

We stayed at the WL concierge in September in the honeymoon room. We were there for 3 nights and then moved over to the AKL. (this was a planned move.)

We were not totally thrilled with the friendliness of the WL CM's compared to the AKL's...but that's another thread.

On day 2 or 3, DH and I were at :whispers: Universal Studios in the morning and had to come back early due to me having back spasms. (I had pulled my back while taking a shower that morning in the whirlpool tub/shower in the honeymoon suite...but again, that's another thread.) The CM at the concierge desk gave us a ton of info on how to get to the closest Urgent Care facility so that I could get some painkillers and even offered to call a cab or whatever for us. (We had a car, so it was not necessary.) I even learned that they (concierge) would/could go out and pick up prescriptions for guests (or have them delivered - I forget which). I thought that was pretty nice.

stinkerbelle, I agree. WL Concierge doesn't even compare to AKL Concierge. We would be staying at another concierge if this trip was just for fun.

In our case, we HAVE to stay at WL because DH is in the triathlon at FW and wants to be as close as possible.

I think WL Concierge is improving. I have read many good trip reports recently.

We also had some friendliness problems with certain CM's at WL but have heard nothing but wonderful things lately.

Sorry to hear about your back. Hopefully your next trip will be better.:D

why thank you FloridaFam! (the painkillers and a few martinis at Jiko fixed me right up during that trip! heheh)

Yeah...figures...we leave in 2 days and DH slept funny the other night...now HIS back is sore!

we are too young to be having back issues! heheh

That's good to hear! We're staying at the WL in March on the concierge floor.

My family and I stayed concierge in Sept. I have to say it was by far the best vacation we had! The staff was terrific!
My 4yr DD has very curly hair, I forgot conditioner { knowing I could not make it though the day much less the week!} and couldn't find any in the mercantile or MK, with much embarrassment I went down to concierge to find out where we could find some ....They called GF hair salon... it was closed! so they contacted the manager, told them the story [who said to come down and they opened the shop!!! ] CONCIERGE saved a lot of screaming and crying time for my girl .. This was no kind of emergency or anything and they went to all of this trouble!!! Can't say enough!!

hope this helps!

We absolutely loved our stay at the WL concierge this month. :) The staff was the best we've encountered on property. :) I can't wait to get back there soon!!! :hyper:

TEK224 - They'll do pretty much whatever you ask, within reason. They brought us special food and beverage requests and even made a trip to DTD to get our ds a hat he wanted. :) "No" was definitely not in their vocabulary. ;)
