I am curious where these two places are in relation to the resort and who would prefer one over the other. We have stayed at OKW 1 bdrm (renting points) and absolutely loved it and we have also stayed at the Poly concierge and liked the food and beverage offerings and of course location. I didn't really use concierge for anything else. I am undecided what would work best for us.

What are the difference in rooms and locations is my main concern. I would like easy access to the boat to MK and buses. I want to try not to have a rental car this time. We are looking at the first week in December and have a 3 yr old dd.

Thanks

If you want to get a villa at VWL in early Dec on points, you need to be talking to a member NOW. That time is very popular with members and the 7 month window is open now for members who do not have VWL as their home resort. VWL is the smallest DVC resort and it is extremely popular around Christmas time.

Disney's rates are 284 for the studio and 360 for the concierge. The Studio is a little bigger and has the kitchenette, but the concierge room includes breakfast (the only meal really feasible in the studio to make, since it's just cereal and pastries).

The concierge room has 2 queens, 1 queen w/ bunk, or 1 king. If it's just two adults and a 3 year old the 1 queen would be fine at the studio, but a king at the concierge might be nicer for the 2 adults. Basically if you are going to use the food, care about bathrobes, and want to use the concierge planners go with the concierge room.

The studio is cheaper, maybe even more if you go through a member, and has the kitchenette. The villas also have high speed internet for $10 a day, the lodge has dial-up.

I checked online and the studios are available through Disney for the first week of Dec. I assume that a DVC member could get you the studio with no problem if it's available through Disney.

The concierge rooms are not showing up, but sometimes it won't show it to you online. Always call CRO when booking.

thank you for the info. I know I need to act quick if I want to rent points. Do either of you know where the villas are in respect to the lobby and bus stops - same with the concierge rooms, are they the best view and location rooms? Will they be near the newly constructed concierge lounge?? I have only walked thru WL years ago so I am not familiar with room locations and this would probably be a big sticking point with us - esp w/ a young one in tow.

Thanks again!!!

I'm not absolutely sure, but I think the main entrance to the villas is right by the bus stop. The far end would be a longer walk though. I have no idea where the concierge rooms are from the bus stop. Have fun!

You can't check online to see VWL inventory through DVC. Points inventory is separate from CRO inventory. Only a member can check this and Member Services has to be open to do that. They are only open M-F, 9AM - 6PM ET.

Like I said earlier, this is an extremely popular time for DVC members and you are past the 7 months point where any DVC member can reserve a room at VWL, not just members with VWL as their home resort. If you are serious about staying in the villas for Dec, you need to find a member to make the reservation for you on Monday. You also need to remember that you don't have the same cancellation privileges or payment options when you are renting from an individual member like you do when you reserve with Disney (CRO). The member has total control over the reservation until you check in.

The villas are toward the right when you are entering the main lobby. They are located near the bus stop. Most views here are woods views, with a few (very few) leisure pool views. They are located in a separate building from the Lodge that is connected by a covered walkway.
