We are splitting our Nov. trip between YC conc. and WL conc. What can I expect from these conc. levels. I have heard some negative things about WL conc. and now I am worried that I made the wrong choice. Especially since I can't get any discount (AP or military) for this room. Should I keep trying to get the discount?

Please help.

We'll be staying YC concierge for the first time in December, so I'll be looking forward to hearing about your stay. So far, their pre-planning department has been wonderful. Have you been in contact with them yet? I've already received a key to the concierge lounge, park maps, recreation information, resort maps and restaurant information. They even sent out a questionnaire for me to fill out with any special requests that I had.

The only comments that I've heard is that the lounges at these particular resorts are maybe not as deluxe as say the Poly, the GF or the AKL. I know that the YC does close up their lounge in between servings. That's something that I'd like to see changed. When we stay at the GF, they always have drinks available and you can sit and relax even while they're in between setups. Also, the YC lounge has a balcony that overlooks the parking lot. This is obviously a design flaw because they have that beautiful lake that they could have taken advantage of. Other than that, I really haven't heard anything bad about the service or the staff.

Enjoy your stay,
Tammi

Thanks for all your input. I will definately let you know how our trip goes. I haven't been in touch with the concierge staff yet, and didn't even know that I could be. Do you just call the hotel's main number? By the way, what does "*bump*" mean?

I stayed at the YC concierge in Aug 2003 and was disappointed with the schedule, service and offerings. I would not pay for it at YC again. I have two small kids and being able to get milk and snacks was helpful, but the only plus I think was them making a couple PS for us. The lounge staff was not very friendly, the lounge was closed during the day, but sometime longer than others and never at the same times. The lounge was often empty from snacks and messy. The lounge experiance in general was very disappointing. The desk staff was very nice and helpful.

I'm with Mickey Fliers - how do you get the concierge #, etc? We were booked for Oct 8 but not on concierge. Had to change to Dec 17 and went up to Concierge. Have heard nothing from them but the reserv is on the website so I know it went thru.

Thanks!

The contact for the YC pre-planning department is WDW.YBBW.Concierge@disney.com . I've been working with Amy and Angela and they are both terrific. Please drop them an e-mail and they'll be happy to get a packet out to you. Even though you're splitting your concierge stay between two resorts, either one or the other can take care of all your arrangements.

Please let me know if there's anything else that you need.
