WL Bunkbed ressie issues

We stayed at WL in 05. If I remember correctly we asked for bunk beds with a standard view room. I just called and was told that if you want bunk beds you have to stay in a woodview room which, of course, costs more. It's $5 less than staying in the CR Garden Wing. What would you suggest?

Thanks for any help! :grouphug:

I wonder if this is somthing new. I thugh the standard rooms had bunk beds. I'd call back and see if you got missinformation.

Bunk bed rooms are now in Woods view or Courtyard view rooms and you have to pay extra for those.

As for as which resort would I choose, I love the WL but I also love the CR. For $5 more, I would probably choose the CR, but I like the proximity with MK and the monorail. The other thing I might consider is the food center is in the tower on the 4th floor now I believe, which would seem to be a pain going to if you use it often. Just something else to think about. I love the feeling of the WL though.

WL bunk bed room vs. CR Garden Wing. Hmmm...good question.

I love WL theme, and the bunk beds are a plus in our family. CR however, has larger rooms with two queen beds, and a sofa bed.

We enjoy going to FW, so the WL is closer, but CR also has a boat that goes there.

Whispering Canyons/Artist Pointe vs Chef Mickey's/California Grill

I love the WL boat to the MK vs Monorail to MK (takes about the same amount of time). If you take the monorail to EPCOT you have to transfer (takes longer than a bus, but...it's the monorail-more fun)

How is the fourth floor construction coming along at CR?

Honestly, I'm not sure which property I would choose. We have stayed at CR and WL and both are great properties. DW just chimed in...she likes the larger rooms at CR with flat screen tv.

But there is a flat screen at WL as well. We've never stayed at CR and at one time thought we would like it, but knowing that all the construction is still going on, I would prefer the WL to avoid noise. Also, having to go to the 4th floor for a snack from the wings is a bit far. My family votes for the WL.

I had my sister (who is going w/) call, too. She received the same info on bunk bed room price. We REALLY like having adjoining rooms, and we were told that standard rooms could be located next to each other but wouldn't be adjoining. We did ask and CR GW rooms are booked for the week we are going to be there, so I guess that makes our decision an easy one . . . unless I start calling every week to see if there's a change in room availability for CR GW! Decisions, decisions! :surfweb:

I originally booked a standard view room at the Wilderness Lodge but then changed to a bunk bed room. I was told that the bunk beds are woods view and courtyard view. The woods view was a little over $400.00 more and a courtyard would be over $800.00 more. I just took the bunk beds wood view. I am hoping that the bunk beds will give us a little more space in the room than if we had two queen size beds.

Anybody have any pictures of their bunk bed/woods view rooms and their view?

Exactly the decision we had to make. We have little kids so we picked WL because I thought it would be more fun for them. The more and more I have learned about the Contemporary since making that fateful decision the more and more I have been happy with our choice. The only regret I have is that we are sacrificing proximity to MK. However when it comes down to it I think we've probably only added at 15 minutes at most to our "commute" so I'm trying not to sweat it.

In the end we ended up upgrading to a Courtyard view because with the codes it ended up being the cheapest option. I don't think you get any extra room with the bunks - they pretty much just take up the room the Queen would have anyways (they aren't all that much smaller furniture wise) but I know my kids will get a kick out of them AND once in bed they won't be able to see each other so they might even sleep. :rotfl:

Ask me at the end of the month and I'll tell you for sure if it was a good decision.

I would choose CR hands down. You then have the monorail, close to MK and a fairly large room to boot!
