Does anyone know if Wl villas are completely booked up for December.

I was thinking of buying DVC at SSR but would like to stay a few nights at WL for our trip this Dec. Just not sure if I am to late.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that the ship has probably sailed on that one, especially considering even if you called on Monday it would still be a few days before you'd be able to make a reservation. As it is, December's probably one of the tougher months to get a room outside your home resort.

You can always get on the waitlist. We recently had the VWL come through for our waitlist the first week in Dec.

From what I have read everything is booked except for some 1 bedrooms (?) at SSR in early December.

I was extremely lucky to get a WL studio for December - however, I called right at the 7 month window and 2 of my 5 nights were originally waitlisted.

I have been waitlisted for a studio from 12/6-12/11 for almost 2 months now, and no luck yet. I'm hoping it comes through. this is my first wait list experience.

I'm waiting too. I'm waitlisted for VWL studio for 12/5 - 12/10. I have a studio at BCV for that time, so it's not a big deal if we don't get it.

Shoot- that's what I thought but thought I would ask anyway.

Thanks everyone.

BCV is our home and we booked for Christmas '05 at our 11 month window and began moving our reservation to VWL at 7 months. Got two days right away (24th and 25th). Two more days were available next call, and then we were waitlisted for four more. Came through in less than two weeks. Last year ('04) was a minor miracle. Called end of July on the spur of the moment, and got 5 nights at VWL without waitlisting (Dec 23rd - Dec 28th).

If you have a guide who is selling you points, you can ask specifically about dates and type of accomodations to see what is available. The guide has to wait until Member Services is opened, but can find out specifically for you. Michelle did this for us when we were buying, unfortunately, nothing was available for us at the time we wanted.

I made reservations for a 1-bedroom at VWL about 3 weeks back. I understand that studios were booked. I would call and check with member services as it may depend on the days that you are looking for and the type of room. I also own at SSR and wanted to try VWL at Xmas. Good luck!

I just made a reservation for a studio at OKW last week for 12/8-12/14. I started off wanting either a studio or 1 BR for at least 4 nights anywhere from 11/30 on. The first dates anything was available was 12/8 then only OKW and SSR.

Good luck.

My dates are any 3 nights between Dec.11- 17th. I think I will bite the bullet- buy and then waitlist. If it doesn't happen then I will just have to go back next year ;)

Thanks everyone.

If you are going to regularly want that VWL room between Thanksgiving and Christmas, don't buy SSR....buy VWL resale. At least for me, going on a waitlist every year and "hoping" my VWL room opens up (even if it always does) would be stressful. That is the most popular time of year at VWL and there are a lot of people who own at the resort just for the home resort advantage in early December.

It worked. I put my deposit down and have a one bedroom reserved at WLV for Dec. 12-15th. I am so excited. :cool1: :cool1:

Sweet!......But one word of advice, the mantra on these boards is "Buy where you want to stay". So if you get addicted to VWL during the Christmas Season, you may want to add on some VWL points. That way, you'll be able to snag a studio at the 11 month window and won't have to sweat out the waitlist.

Oh, before I forget.....Welcome Home! :wizard:

Thanks cruise-o-matic- I was thinking along those same lines. ;)
