WL booked 12/19-12/26 Any room suggestions?

yeah, booked our room for the Wilderness Lodge for 12/19 - 12/26.
all they had available under AAA discount was courtyard view. I've never stayed at WL before so I'm thinking this is good, correct? Any room suggestions I should make e.g. which floor, side? Any suggestions that can perhaps up my chances for fireworks view and Electric water parade view

On a side note, am i crazy crowd wise to be going to WDW during this time frame?

If you want to view the EWP, request an inner courtyard view (as opposed to courtyard villas). None of the courtyard rooms will have a view of the fireworks. For that, you would need a standard or woods view room on the upper floors of the north wing.

The inner courtyard rooms overlook the pool/stream/waterfall area. Rooms on the south side of the building overlook the Villas pool.

"It was money well spent. We loved it there. The Christmas decorations were up and the lobby was wonderful. We landed at 4:00 pm Sunday. Using Magical Express, we were in our rooms by 5:30pm. Great service which I highly recommend. When we went to check in, my wife requested an inner courtyard view. They were going to put us in an outer courtward room, but they moved us to an inner without problem.

We had a 5th floor room, on the stream side of the V, about 6 rooms away from the lobby. Quiet, great view of courtyard, pool, lake, gyser, and lodge, plus close the the elevators without being off the lobby. In my opinion, one of the best rooms there. I loved it.

Overall, we loved the lodge. We used the boat to the Contemporary and the MK a lot. It was almost like being on the monorail line without actually being on it. We did tour the AKL during the week. That lobby is also great, but I'm so glad we stayed at WL. I'm just more of a 'woodsy, water" person. Plus, as I said, I loved being able to use the boat. I took a ton of pictures and will try to post a few later.

When we left on Monday the 19th, the parks and resorts seemed to be getting more crowded by the minute. IMO, we were there the perfect time of year."

"We had room 5113. It was about half way down the first part of the hallway on that side of the V. Odd numbers were facing the inner courtyard. Lower numbers moved towards the lobby. Higher numbers moved away. From looking at the locations, I would think anything from around that number or a bit higher would have a great view.

We were in the small part of the courtyard (Close to the lobby, over the stream). Higher numbers will be in the larger part of the courtyard (over the pool area) which I'm sure would be great also. You could probably get a better view of the lake, gyser, and waterfall from there too. The only thing I wouldn't be sure of there is at night, those pool lights seem to be pretty bright. I liked being a bit away from them.

I loved the balcony. We watched the boats from there at night. I would also start every day by running down to roaring forks snacks to get something to eat. I would then bring it back to the room and sit on the balcony with the complimentary paper and enjoy the morning.

One neat event happened while we were there. We just got back from Epcot (I think around 9:00pm or so (it had been a long day)) The first rain of the trip was supposed to hit earlier that day, but fortunately, it held off until we got in the room. I stood on the balcony and watched it downpour. The rain was so heavy for a few minutes that giant waterfalls formed on the sloped roofs of the rooms at the end of the courtyard (backed up to the lobby). It was fun to watch the people in those rooms come outside and be behind a wall of water."

That is not entirely true. I could see some of the fireworks over the roof of the lodge from my courtyard room last week. Keep in mind it is not the best view for fireworks as you will not be able to see the whole show just the bigger fireworks. But it was still neat to be able to sit on the balcony and watch what we could. We could also watch the water parade from our balcony. We were in Rm 4161 which was at the end of the south wing and here are some pics so you can have an idea of the view we had. We loved our room and would recommend this location!

Thank you both for the beautiful pics and room information, it really helps one get a perspective on what its really like. I can't wait, so excited.

Being that this will be our 2nd trip I'll be more relaxed and comfortable w/ WDW parks/surroundings. On our first trip (which was week before xmas) I must say I was very overwhelmed and so wasn't able to relax as much afraid that we would miss this or that, but this trip will definetely be different so I'll just deal with the crowd situation

We are staying at Wilderness Lodge, too! We will be there 12/8 to 12/17 -- we are already loving it! Your pictures are great!

if you get a room on the ground floor facing the woods in the north wing there's a good chance you can make friends with a duck or two if you have anything like say, frosted flakes, you would want to share with them...
I gave a female duck a few frosted flakes one morning, and by few i mean no more than 6, and the next morning about the same time she brought back her man hoping for the same service... we decided we didn't want them or more ducks getting too comfy there for the next family and didn't feed them anything after that.
There's bunnies out there too, at least in the summer.

A room with a view is a lot more fun though
