I plan to take the boat to MK in the morning and home in the evening, but is it worth it to take it back to WL in the early afternoon? I know it stops at Fort Wilderness first and is a slightly longer trip in the late morning to early evening hours. I'm traveling with a 14 month old so I'd like the quickest way home. I'm also renting a car, but is is silly to drive to MK from WL? There are a lot of people in my party so maybe one person can drive the car in the morning and meet up with the rest of us. Any thoughts? Thanks!

In the afternoon before 3:00pm taking the Direct Bus from Bus Stop # 1 @ Magic Kingdom, will get you back to the Lodge the fastest. If you drive your car and park you would have to travel to the TTC then a tram to the parking area. Just jump on the bus. (5Min ride)

I would like to know this, too -- About how long is the afternoon/evening boatride back to the Wilderness Lodge from the Magic Kingdom?

Not long at all, maybe 10 minutes. You child will LOVE the ride. It will be so nice that you can just roll your stroller on board, no folding!:thumbsup2

Enjoy the lodge, it's the best place with young children!

I'm going to echo kimberle,
The ride is not long 10 mins tops even with stopping at Ft. Wilderness. I'm not sure how long you would wait at the boat dock at MK during the afternoon though. Every kid, I've ever seen on the boat has loved it.

Echo the other posters. It doesn't take long. Never drive to MK from anywhere! Royal pain, and much longer! FYI, we found that if the resort boat was there before the MK boat, usually faster taking resort boat from WL to CR and then taking the walkway.

The ride is 10 minutes at the most, but is much more pleasant than riding a bus. The only time we had delays getting on the boat was between 9 PM and 10 PM due to the electric water parade passing by.
