I have reserved a standard room for August. Will we have a balcony? open or closed? anyone know?
And will the bugs be a problem? are there chairs to sit out there on?
How high <floor wise> are the standard rooms?
Thanks so much!

Here is a quote I copied from the old WL FAQ board. (999ghsts was a CM who worked at WL)

From 999ghsts - Your standard rooms are floors 4, 5, and 6 in the first wing on the North...MK...side, these are all the rooms that directly look over the service area also the 4th floor rooms over the front desk are standard view rooms, they all look at roof peaks.
***Standard rooms DO NOT have King Beds, They are NOT
located on any floors lower than 4 and they are ALL non smoking****

Balconies on the 4 and 5 floor should be open. I believe 6th floor balconies are solid wood and you cannot see through them if you are sitting down. Our balcony had a chair and table.

Hope that helps.

Those no-seem bugs were terrible at Wl in the first week of Oct. last year. We could really never use our balcony.

Would there be bunk beds in stardard rooms? ANd if you say MK side... trees are obstructing the view of MK?
Thanks Jill

All rooms at Wilderness Lodge have a patio or a balcony. If you're in a standard room you'll probably be in the North wing overlooking the roof /loading area. Not a bad location, but not the nicest view.

You're almost certain to have a "regular" balcony. Very few of the rooms have the "privacy" balconies -- most of these are the very highest floors and conceirge. If this is a big deal to you, make a request.

The balconies have two chairs and a small table (think big enough for a couple drinks).

We were very lucky to be upgraded to a courtyard view (now that we've had one, I'd willingly pay for that view again), and my husband practically lived out there every evening. Bugs were not a problem (first week in June), though light sleepers might dislike the noise from the pool -- even the kids mentioned it.

We had a standard room at WL last week. From our balcony you could see the bus stop for the lodge. It was not the best view, but we loved the view from our front door. It was the lobby of the beautiful hotel and if you looked straight across, you could see all the goings-on of the Whispering Canyon. That was a lot of fun.

We stayed at WL in Aug, had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs.
Had a good view of the fireworks at magic kingdom every nite.
Our room did over look the delivery area but didnt notice any noise.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:
