When staying at WL this past June we were in Room #5083. This was our first stay there and I didn't know what to expect as far as their balconies went.

I was disappointed I was able to see right down the row of our floor of everyone's balcony. It wasn't too private . . .Do all of their rooms have balconies like this or are there ones that are private and enclosed?

Wow, I didn't realize that either. We're staying there for the first time in November and I'm not paying for a woodsview room if I have to "share" my balcony with everyone else. That's one reason I didn't book a courtyard view didn't like the total lack of privacy!

No balcony that I've seen is 100% private at WDW. The woods view balconies that we've had at WL have about a 1 1/2 inch vertical slit where the side wall meets the outsite wall of the lodge... but that's it. I'm not exactly sure what you are planning on doing on the balcony, but I'd rate the privacy of the balconies as "fine".

On my last trip, we had a woods view and were over the Cubs Den (overlooking the Villas and the path towards the buses) - really pretty actually. Our balcony was just ours. We didn't share with anyone.

They are, however, narrow.

 I don't remember seeing anyone while on our balcony. There was a wall on both sides. Actually, on one side of our woodsview room was no room, but the building jutted out and continued. Never saw/heard anyone on their balcony. It was private.

I have to second that. We stayed last Sept. & didn't see anyone else on the balcony. They are very narrow but I do recall we were overlooking the smokehouse  ! Not the best view if you looked down but I did see the Contemporary in the background :bounce:. We had a standard room.

we stayed in a courtyard view at the wl in may and the balconies sound the same as described in the woodsview. they were not completely enclosed. but i never really felt like they were not private. you really had to look through the slots on either side to see the other balcony.

anyway, regarding the view of the courtyard view. we realized that sitting outside on your balcony you could see directly into the rooms on the opposite side. i had gone out on the balcony one morning and was just looking around and looked across the way and saw a woman making her bed in the nude. it was amazing how many people don't close their vertical blinds when they don't have any clothes on. and especially at night when you have the lights on, be careful. one morning we even had a couple on the 5th floor come out on their balcony completely nude and they were there more than a few seconds. we quickly learned NOT to look across the courtyard. so beware if you have a courtyard room, close your blinds if you don't want anyone to look into the room. i could just imagine if someone had binoculars, yikes. :D

Anyone that stands out on their balcony completly in the all-together, knows darn good and well that they are naked and that people can see them naked. This is WDW, they really should go to a clothing optional resort if they want to be exposing their assets to the world.

We were on the 5th floor Woodsview and there is a slot but never felt I was not private. For total Private balcony, get a room on the 6th floor. They are enclsoed and wider. You can identify them in the picture where it looks like the roof was cut and rasied.

We were 6th floor Woodsview - regular balcony (Room 6118)...there's just a small crack between the wall and the divider as someone mentioned. I LOVED our balcony - we were second to the end of where the inn jutted out - it was very private - woodsy - we could "people watch" the villas. And, we were over a speaker so we could hear that wonderful WL music. Very nice, relaxing, and felt private enough to me - but then again - my idea of balcony time is, at the most, doing something "wild" like sipping a glass of wine!

(Don't mean to disagree with you FloridaCat - but I'm pretty sure it's the 7th floor that has the enclosed balconies. Either that or there are sections of the inn that only go to the 6th floor and have enclosed balconies - and some sections that go to the 7th floor - and then those sections have the enclosed balconies.)

The last two wings towards Bay Lake only go to the 6th floor.

UPDATE: I found my notes.
* Dormer balconies are ALL of the 7th floor and some of the 6th. The 7th floor does not extend out as far therefore the last wing on both sides on the 6th floor has the dormer balconies

Thanks guys!

What I meant was that they weren't like the GF's where you couldn't see anyone. GF has the solid dividers.

All I have to say to DizneyKid is
