WL and Laundry!

I know I will be doing at least one load of laundry while on our vacation this summer. Where is the laundry located in the Wilderness Lodge? Can I buy small sized detergents at WDW or at a local supermarket? Thank you!

Not sure about the WL, but I bought single-use size detergent at both All Stars and the Poly, so I'm sure all laundry centers sell it. The washer and dryer were 2.00 each, but I can't remember how much the soap was.

I also saw these items for sale in the shops at the resorts.

...has a laundromat that is directly across from the elevators that lead to RF cafe on the ground level. Word of caution...take LOTS of quarters, cuz' the dryers are NOT the best! Yes, you can purchase detergent there, but what I do is fill an old plastic [disposable] bottle (I use an old small Downy Softner bottle that has been rinsed out!) and bring it with me!! I can NEVER do just ONE load of laundry..... !

We have done several loads of laundry at the WL. It is located near the Roaring Forks Snack bar. You will be able to purchase single use laundry detergent but it's around $2 a box. I would suggest you bring your own unless you are flying. Also, if my memory serves me correctly, there are only about 6 washing machines and they are always in use. The day to do your laundry is the day you are planning to relax at the pool.

Yes the Villas do have a small busy laundry with 2 machines and 4 dyers but the are only available to members or visitors who are staying at the villas.

I found that the laundry soap tablets (tide makes them), and dryer sheets worked out well for us. A little easier to pack. I just threw some in a ziploc in my suit case.

If you take a car service from the airport, you can stop at a grocery store for 30 minutes

Either of these ideas would be cheaper than paying for supplies at the resorts.

We brought the laundry tablets to WL once, but the machine had a filter like device and the tablets wouldn't disolve very well. I now buy the small (one load) packages at our local dollar store and pack them in our suitcases (i put the in zip lock bags, just in case...)

I agree with other posts about the drying times and the number of washers.
