WL $30 concierge upgrade?

DH and I may be going to WDW in the end of Jan. for a weekend. I got a postcard for $109 for a deluxe during that timeframe, so I'm assuming it's for the WL and AKL. Anyways, we've stayed at both before and liked both...the deciding factor for which one to book will be the possibility of the $30 concierge upgrade at the WL. Has anyone stayed there recently and been offered this upsell at check-in? What did you have to ask to be offered this upsell (if anything)? Also, did you book a standard view or a courtyard view (or does it matter in terms of who gets offered the upsell)? TIA!

Hi! That is a great discount! I'd definately take advantage of that if you can.

I remember reading the thread on the "$30 concierge upgrade" and I can tell you that it is a rare offer. Upsells to concierge are more the exception than the rule and I wouldn't expect an offer like that. The $109/nt rate is likely for a Standard view and the difference in rack rates between Standard and Concierge is $150 more per night in Value Season.

I'd go with whichever resort you like the most. While that would be a great upsell price, I wouldn't let it affect my decision on where to stay--JMHO.

It should come down to where you want to stay the most.

We used the $30 upgrade in October-but we had booked a concierge room and then didn't want to stay that high so they put us in a courtyard room and then did the upgrade.

I say your chances are better if you book a courtyard view room but I don't know if they give upgrades to people using codes.

Can you get concierge at either resort using the code? I would check this out.

I would definately ask when you check in if there are any upgrades available.

I hope you get an upgrade-it's definately worth it.
