Jeanne – what an awesome picture! You guys look so happy! Congratulations, again! You don’t even look tired. All that training definitely paid off for both of you.
Kevin – so nice to see you here!
Martha – woohoo on signing up for the full!

Good luck with your training for Leadville. Just the name makes me think I’d be slugging along, even if it weren’t for the very intimidating elevations!
Colleen and Christa – Do neither of you know what “moderation” means? Your mileage blows me away! Good job, guys!
Dave – I love how you take it easy and then do an awesome pace for 3.14.

Yeah, I wanna take it easy like that!
Dana – Great job!
Lily – those pictures are literally awesome! What an interesting locale for your wogs! Not sure how you can keep up the pace with so much to be distracted by around you.
Stephanie – all I can say about your 5k is OMG!!!!

You were burning up that course, girl! Shouldn’t you be resting and recovering?
Mel – I cannot believe how fast your pace is and how much you have improved over time. You really give me hope and inspire me. Now if I could just lose as much weight as you have, I might find my pace improving!
Jen – so sorry about DH’s knee. Sending him

and
Welcome Jen!
Craig – I know life is so crazy for you right now, but wanted to send you

and best wishes as you all get ready for Lesley’s graduation!
Mike – Unlike Craig, I wouldn’t vote to keep you out! I’d make you President and Master of Ceremonies! Thank you for sharing your awesome sense of humor!
Angie – I’m so sorry to hear about your back. I WISH I had advice but can only offer a
Kristi - OMG! That is so impressive!!!
Christa – sending a

to your DD. How sad for her. I hope the Benadryl helps and quickly.
Shan – great job on stepping up to the next level! Don’t worry – your pace will pick up again as your body gets used to the longer running intervals.
Thank you everyone for the congrats on my “release” and the kind words from my cardiologist.
I know this belongs on the race reports thread, but since it is the only “training” I have to report, I’ll tell you about the 5k we did yesterday morning. We got home the night before at 1:20 a.m., at which point I still had to do my 100 crunches and 100 push-ups before falling in to bed to sleep until 6:45 a.m. So, even though my time was 41:56, which was slower than I'd have liked, I am not beating myself up over it.
Can't wait to break 40 minutes, but my splits were really wonderful for me, especially a week after Minnie and after the stonker of last week where I barely made it a mile with shin splints:
mile 1 -- 12:27 (best speed 8:56)
mile 2 -- 13:53 (best speed 10:04)
mile 3 -- 13:08 (best 9:53)
.2 miles -- 13:18 pace (best 11:08)
Really not bad, but I am going to work on the jogging intervals to become a bit more regular. I obviously was flat out running for a few seconds here and there to make up some distance, but for the most part, I was walking, rather than even wogging.
The kicker? I would have been in the top 3 walkers if I'd done one more wogging interval past the 2 women who kept jogging past me every time I got ahead of them. I missed it by 20 seconds!
The course was lots and lots of hills. Howard was off his best time by almost 5 minutes and one of the top male walkers told me it took him 4 minutes more than his very consistent, normal time, so I don't feel too badly about it.
