Wizarding World Secrets and Details

Thanks for sharing! We will be there tomorrow, and I look forward to searching for some of these amazing details!

No problem! :)

I've been getting great info for my upcoming trip, so just trying to give back. :goodvibes

Thanks for posting. We'll be there next week. I'll surely be keeping an eye out for some of those. Already book marked the page on my phone.

The absolute best tip that I can share...do not take anything into Islands with you that can't be thrown on in a split second. If you have a stroller, you are kind of stuck, but if you can get away with it, have nothing in your hands. If you are a backpack person, leave it in the car until you are done with WWOHP and go and retrieve it then. And leave it in the car, do not stop for a locker in front of the park,

We arrived at 8:15 for a 9am opening last Thursday. There were maybe 30 people total in line ahead of us, while the on site guest line was letting people through. By 8:50, the on site guest line was longer than our standby line, we got through faster than they did. If you stay on site, take advantage of that 8am opening!

We hightailed it through Seussland and straight to the castle. When we walked up, I was confused. There was a huge mass of people to the right of the entrance area and no one in front of us. It took me about 10 seconds to realize that the huge line was for a locker, not for the ride. You cannot have anything in your hands when you ride the FJ. I was carrying my daughter's house robe and tie with me. I just threw them on her, and away we went. We walked straight through the castle and directly on to the ride with no wait. By the time we exited the castle, the line was 20 minutes, from all of the people who had been in the locker line!

The list is amazing! Printed it out, will use it as a scavanger hunt of sorts! Thanks for the locker tip, are there lockers available before you enter the park??? just curious....

If I'm not mistaken they are just inside the park gates. However, I always just bring a small belly bag. Even when I go after work I take everything of value out of my purse and cram it into my belly bag then lockup my empty purse in my car trunk.

It makes it so much faster! Plus my shoulders don't hurt from carrying a bunch of junk I don't need around the park!

Thanks for the tip! A little clarifcation, though. Are you saying that if you have any bag of any sort you will be forced to put it in a locker? Even a small over the shoulder bag the size of a digital camera? I ask because I have always worn this on WDW rides without a problem but I have no experience with US/IOA.

Thanks!

From what people have reported back, the only thing they will let you bring on FJ is a fanny pack. Although, there is a small compartment on your seat that could hold small items like sunglasses, etc..

Glad you all are enjoying the list. :goodvibes

I'm going to do the same and have dd look for some things. She's only 3, but she loves finding games. :)

Yes- any shoulder bag seems to gets stopped for FJ. I even saw a woman with wristlets being told she had to put it in a locker. (It was tiny - like wallet on a string!) I only remember because she made a HUGE fuss when she saw me walk by with with a belly bag on. The TM explained that the harness would fit over my belly bag and since it was clipped around my waist I didn't have to hold onto it. I left before I heard how that one ended. :rotfl:

I have never had a problem with my purse on any WDW ride.

Also - heads up. At the bargain store on the way out of IOA they have small belly bags for $12.95. I swear it is the exact same one I bought for $15.95 at the regular store! (But I got my passholder discount so it was ok! :thumbsup2)

Thanks for the suggestion. I love my little bag so I might have to tie it around my waist at that time and hope for the best :)

What a great link!!!! I have been there twice so far but still haven't made it into the stores. I will check into all of those items on the list next month!!!

Ok, what if one member of your party is not riding, just going through to the fat boy walk of shame, can he carry the backpack in there?

Yes. We did child swap and carried everything through the line. DH and I took turns holding the bags while we stayed with DD7.
