Hey,

Just wanted to know if anyone has heard when it's ment to open.

princess:I'm going WDW Florida in the summer and would really like it to be open.

I've heard it's going to open either spring or summer but would be gutted if we missed it by a few weeks.

It's sounds fab and i love Harry Potter and the thought of walking through Hogsmea and going in the sweet shop to buy a chocolate frog with a trading card in just makes me want to go even sooner.

If you find out please can you let me know

I don't think there is a definite date, but it should be open sometimes this spring.

Ok thanks for your help

Are you going Disney sometimes soon?

If so what one and when?

Yeah, I'm going to The Magic Kingdom on Sunday for the day.

OMG wow

Where do you live then if you go when you want for the day?

I live in London and we're going for 3 weeks in the summer but we are still are finding it hard to cram everything in.

That's perfect then for you isn't it.

You don't have to get up at 5 in the morning to get a plane that lasts 9 hours long

I'd love to live where you do

Do you visit Universal and IOA aswell as Disney?

No definite date but I will be working there. Just got hired this past weekend. I know training is going to be going through March 21 (at least for me), but I wouldn't expect it all open until late may/june. (I got the hint in my interview that they will be opening it up in segments for soft openings.)

I've never been to Universal. I plan to go when Harry Potter opens though.

I'm kinda mad that they haven't set a definate opening date yet. I mean, it said spring and it is kinda getting close to "spring." I'm going in late May/early June to WDW, but I won't be going to WWoHP. I'm going in January when most of the hype has gone down from it. But still, I would like to know when it will open.

Depending on when you go in January, I would expect a lot of hype for the next year or so. I know the new roller coaster there still has hour long lines (in slow season) and that was one coaster, this is a whole segment. Plus the second to last movie would have just come out. It definitely won't be as bad as it will be at Grand Opening, but expect long lines (even for shops).

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!!

It cannot open later than June 30th.

I'm going either the 10th-15th or the 17-23 of January, which I think is a slow time. But I'd rather go to it in January than in May right after it opened/right after memorial day.

Thats right around MLK weekend(probably the week before though), but yeah it definitely won't be as bad as Grand Opening.

Mugglecast is going to be there July 12?-18th I know, at least to the 18th. I'm not sure when they get there.
So I think it should be open by then.

I want to go!

i just want to let you know it's in universal studios, no WDW

Can't open later than June 30th. Infinius (sp? sorry) 2010 has events that take place at the park so it will at least have to be partially open for them at that time.

I am so excited to go. I am going to WDW this summer, but unfortunately couldn't convince my family to take a day away from the world and visit the new park. :sad2:

Thank you every1 for your help!

If it's opening in parts does anyone know if it will all be open around the 21ts July???

Thanks again

Everything must be open by June 30, 2010. Its in a contract that Universal signed way back in 07 when they started this whole thing. So it is safe to say everything will be open. (now whether it is working properly and consistently is another thing...haha)

In my interview I was told I would start working during the spring break period(late march-early April) on dragon challenge. It will have been transformed by then. It is going to open before the rest of the area though. Since it's entrance is in the beginning of hogsmeade, I expect at least the exteriors of those shops will be done at that time.

I have been told by a current worker that Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge is expected to go down through the month of april though for its transformation. I will find out more information in a few weeks during orientation.
