Wizarding World of Harry Potter.....WOW!!!

Go in the evening instead of first thing in the morning. HP is very mystical at night and the crowds have usually thinned out by then.

Yep, it`s even more beautiful at night and was much quieter (last 2 weeks in Aug last year)

We never made the early entry last year, we did intend to but it never happened. Don`t plan to do any early mornings this year either.

Both, particularly when IOA is open a bit later.

I prefer to tour WWoHP early just in case it's really packed later on. I've seen it very busy and also not so busy at night. I would also go at night because the WWoHP is absolutely gorgeous when it gets dark.

We'll be there about a week after you! I'm already excited!

This is what we do also. There have been nights when it was very crowded and I was glad that I had gone in the morning. We always go in the morning with early entry though. I don't know if I'd rush to get there if we didn't have that perk. Besides, I'm a huge HP nut and once a day is never enough for me!!

We were advised to go only in the evening when the crowds were lighter, but being type A I worried the ride might be down and I would miss it, so we did both.

We got to experience WWOHP last year. It was AMAZING!!!!!! The area is very small to navigate thru all the crowds, but we survived. We got frozen butter beer at the Hogs Head Tavern. That was very cool. The forbidden journey ride is not to be missed.:thumbsup2 We waited over and 1 hour to ride, but worth it.

Hi, we will be at WDW at the end of September and plan to visit IOA for one day just to visit HP!! How busy is it during that time and what would be the best day to go?? I have Wednesday the 26th planned right now! Any tips/tricks would be really appreciated!! Thank you! :goodvibes

Crowds are considerably less in September than they are now. You shouldn't have too much trouble going on 9/26 as planned. Just try to get there early since IOA closes at 7pm in September.

Speaking of September, is it dark enough at all before it closes? Would love to see it at night...

Butterbeer! I went to WWHP in December of 2010 and I'm dying to go back. Can you imagine how happy I was to hear that they're going to build one at Universal Hollywood? I'm about 30 minutes away from there! The expansion at USF sounds like it will be pretty cool too!

was wondering this...without express pass, staying onsite, early december- should we go first thing in am or later when it closes? sounds like 1st thing is smartest,or not? the other shop thing, not sure what that is,but I know we'll want to do the ride

Early December is a great time to go. You should be fine at either time.

Is it true that the harry potter is in the island of adventure? really was only wanting to go one day but didnt want to go to island of adventure..

I think that just the Butterbeer is worth the visit. Great stuff.

I watched a woman last week walk up and ask the girl working there what it tasted like. The woman said chocolate chip cookies and butterscotch. The woman said, "YUCK!" and walked away. I wanted to shout that she was crazy!!

yeah I heard Harry potter on islands was crazy fun. been in Orlando for 4 years and still haven't been out there.

You must go my friend!

For all the vet's out there, is it better to hit WWOHP first thing when the park opens, or later at night? I've heard mixed reveiws on the topic. I'll be there the first week of August and I'm trying to sort out the plan of action.

Very end of the day. If you go in the morning, go right at the gate when it opens and expect a 30 minute+ wait. The whole park makes a mad dash for this ride when it opens. PLUS, it's in the very back of the park and that's quite a walk when tugging on your kids. Better to ride other rides like Hulk and Spiderman at opening when they are walk on. That being said, don't tire yourself out so you can't make it the end of day. The first thing in the morning is still better than nothing.

Crowds won't be as bad then. BUT, HP is busy year around. I've never seen this ride have less than a 75 minute wait even in the slow season, and we go often (excluding when the park opens and just before close).

Also, just an FYI for a pp, this ride does not take express pass. There are several rides that don't. So if you stay on site, be aware you can't come in the afternoon and get right on. This is also why I would never buy the express pass.

And for those who have never been, I recommend trying both the frozen and the non frozen butterbeers. Both are amazing! Three Broomsticks is my favorite CS of any park. And while I'm on a role, Mythos is a fabulous TS (though it closes early).

I'm not a HP fan. Saw the movies once, they were good but I don't go out of my way to watch them. Never read the books, though my kids are fans. But I absolutely love this area. It's just SO crowded.

Staying onsite you get express!

OP, I'm not Harry Potter fan but I really enjoyed WWoHP!! My daughters are the HP fans. The forbidden journey ride is so cool!

After seven straight years of doing WDW only, this year we did US/IOA for the first time and it saved the trip. The place is wonderful, very cool rides and themeing. I hate to say it but, we've been getting a little bored with the WDW parks, so US/IOA was a breath of fresh air. The place rocks! :thumbsup2

DH and I went last May for our anniversary (that's actually how I found this board: looking for info before our trip. We went for literally just the weekend and essentially JUST for WWOHP. I was so nervous about the crowd since it was still relatively new. We were there the weekend before Memorial Day weekend and there were NO crowds. It was shockingly empty. We rode every major ride in IOA and every WWOHP twice (we were so excited the first time going thru Forbidden Journey that we rushed thru the line). We walked into lunch at Mythos and dinner at Hard Rock (had reservations for 3 Broomsticks for breakfast). We were able to hop back and forth between the shops to decide what we wanted. Even the workers in the shops were talking about how weirdly quiet it was.

I wish I had taken more pictures, like a hundred more, lol.

I am so excited to go to WWOHP!! We will be there in 2 weeks!! I think I am more excited than the kids!! LOL:cool1:
