Universal Orlando is celebrating the Nov. 19 release of part 1 of the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with a special after-hours event inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure.

On Nov. 20, 2010, Universal Orlando is inviting a limited number of Premier and Preferred Annual Passholders to enjoy two hours in the Harry Potter-themed section of the park after it has closed to the general public. From 8-10pm, those who RSVP in advance will be admitted to enjoy access to the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, and Dragon Challenge attractions as well as the Three Broomsticks, Hogs Head pub and shops of Hogsmeade Village.

Attendees will also receive a free commemorative Wizarding World of Harry Potter poster. In addition, a Gryffindor lanyard and exclusive Annual Passholder pin will be available for purchase for $10.95 + tax.

The park closes to day guests at 8pm, after which only those who have RSVPed and checked in at the entrance of Islands of Adventure or in the courtyard near The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad Stunt Show will be admitted to the area.

Passholders must RSVP at UniversalOrlando.com/APHP in advance in order to attend and only Passholders will be admitted, not guests. Admission does not include the movie, which will be separately playing at Universal’s CityWalk theater (among thousands of other cinemas across the country).

While previous after-hours events have been held inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this event is the first time Universal Orlando has invited its Annual Passholders to attend a special gathering as part of the Harry Potter excitement

I am thinking of RSVPing for this! I have to work till 4p that day, but a chance to walk around HP at NIGHT!!! I am all over it!

We are doing a big meet up with Attractions Magazine and the girl that does the AccessUniversal Twitter feed at 8:30 by the Hogwarts Express

My husband and I just RSVP'd for this event as well; in fact I just registered on this forum so that we can share our excitement with other passholders! Is anyone here planning on seeing the movie the night before at the midnight showing or are most people waiting until Saturday?

:wizard:Havn't missed a Harry Potter Movie Premier, nor the Grand Opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter @ Islands of Adventure......I'll be there (with my 8 year old granddaughter in tow!!!!!

Ohoh.....can't lock on to the RSVP side.....what am I doing wrong?? Or is it already full.....can somebody tell me??:confused3

I rsvp'd for the 16th. Will they send me a email confirmation?

After I filled out the form, it gave me a confirmation page and told me to print it but I don't have a printer. I was wondering if they will also email me a confirmation so that I can print it off at work?

Yes. I asked GS about this and they will require the confirmation page. Because of the exclusivity of the event and the fact it's full, they are being very strict. They said there will be no leniency with the requirements of showing AP, photo ID and confirmation page. :confused3

I printed out a few friends papers out myself. If you copied the URL that the confirmation page was on, you could bring it back up and print it wherever you have a printer.

The event last night was very nice. It wasn't busy at all. They did not ask to see a photo ID, just wanted to see my annual pass and confirmation paper. The lines for everything were quite short. Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff were walk-on. FJ was about a 20 minute wait, but I did single rider and got on in less than 5 minutes. I believe around 9:30, the wait for Ollivander's was 40 minutes.

The longest line was probably for the annual passholder pin/lanyard.

Were you lucky enough to get a pin? DD and I waited in the line, but they ran out. Supposedly, they only made 500. I saw some people even complaining to security (yeah, like what are they going to do!). I really didn't really care for the pin, but dh wanted to me to get one since he's into collecting exclusive pins..

We got to Islands of Adventure around 5:30 and we checked in at the front. Once in I decided to go left and walk the long way. At Jurassic park finally rode Pteranodon flyers with dd. Then got to WWOHP at 6:30. It was crowded, but manageable.

When I got in the line for Ollivanders, the TM said it was only a 25 min. wait. That was around 8:30ish.. I decided to just do it since I'm not sure if I'll ever see it that short again. LOl! there were still many non passholder guests wondering around Hogsmeade, but by 9, I would say most were gone.. So us two had fun, did Hippogriff twice and did the Ollivander show. Wish we were able to do FJ and DC, but dd is still to small.

ETA: At check in, the guy I checked in with didn't even check the list. He just put my confirmation paper in a pile, checked my AP pass, asked how old DD was and put on our wristbands.

I was there, and was able to get a pin. There were conflicting reports about availability; unless they only wanted to sell a certain number that night. I went into Filch's first, and they said they were all out; but the lines outside were still long outside. I eventually waited until those lines were super short, to go stand in one. So it was about 10:30 when i got the pin; and i was the absolute last person to leave the Wizarding World that night. So yes, they still had pins.

When the TM came down the line explaining there were only 500 pins and they ran out, but they still had lanyards, I did contemplate whether to stay in the line or not to at least buy the lanyard, but I figured if it was the same Gryffindor lanyard, then I could get that anytime. Some people ahead of me were leaving and then my dd said she wanted to ride the Hippogriff again. We've been standing in that line for awhile and decided to just leave since I knew she was already bored just standing there. She was actually being good, but maybe another 15 min. she would've started showing her boredness. When we got off the Hippogriff that's when I saw people complaining to security. We walked around that area a little more and saw some TMs on the phone. From what I've overheard, I guess they were trying to figure out what to do. If dh was there, I know he would've stuck around to see exactly what was going on.

On our first ever visit to WWOHP, we were one of the last people to leave and I loved it! Hogsmeade is absolutely gorgeous at night!

Thank you for this!! I saved my url and I was able to print out my confirmation at work. I'm so excited!!!

Was anyone else there? I was too late to RSVP for the first one but I can't wait for the 16th!!
