Wizard of Oz Debate

Over the summer my wife, kids and a few of the sister in laws were trying to tell me that the song in Munchkinland is -
"We represent the lollipop kids, lollipop kids" etc... I told them they were wrong - the correct lyrics -

"We represent the lollipop guild, lollipop guild", and the great debate was never settled.

Flash forward to yesterday, my 2nd grader comes home and tells me in music class they were singing the "kids" version. We have another debate at dinner last night - I've found it all over the net that it's "guild" and that is always a misheard lyric.

What did you think is was? (Assuming you ever gave this a thought)

The Lollipop Guild! I've watched the Wizard of Oz a zillion times. I babysat a little girl when I lived in Germany--she would re-enact the entire movie in her Grandfather's back yard--complete with a broomstick and totally in German. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen!

I always sang "kids" but I just did a search and indeed it is "guild" hmmm... I guess you do learn something new everyday!!

I think when I was younger I thought it was "kids", but when I saw it as an adult, I realized it was "guild".

I know it's Guild. I've seen the Wizard of Oz enough times to know just about any line. But sometimes I mishear it as the Lollipop Gang. I know when I was a kid I always thought it was Gang.
