With the SARS scare in Toronto, Canada...

Would you feel safe going there for the weekend? My dh and I have had plans for his birthday to spend Sat and Sun up there and hit a show on Sunday, Mama Mia. Now we are a bit worried about the SARS virus... and are thinking of only going up for the show (since we already have tickets).

I am going to Toronto on June 15th. I can only say I hope it's all figured out by then but I doubt it.

My dad travels a lot world wide and I asked his opinion on this one. He says he would feel safer traveling to Toronto than he would traveling to India. Not to dog India of course (he loves it there) but he usually pickes up "something" from there and it is the only place he is extra cautious in. So I'd go to Toronto... I hear it is a beautiful city

It's probably safe to come up and visit. The health officials are being very careful with anyone who has (or even might have) come in contact with someone with SARS. They are automatically quarantining anyone that might be a carrier.
I would think that staying in a hotel and going to the show would be pretty safe. If something happens that you need a Dr. call the front desk and get them to find one for you rather than going to an ER.
Come on up and have a great time! It's too bad you weren't here last weekend, there was a DIS meet at the RFC.

I think it's safe to visit. Afterall, my family is still alive in Hong Kong. If you're worried, wear mask in crowded areas, and wash your hands alot, esp after using public subways or phones...etc.

I think I'd still go for the show, but probably not stay...BUT I'm a big worry wart!! I know the Ken-Ton school district has cancelled all field trips that were scheduled for Toronto uttil this is all over.

If you go for the weekend I would definately take a few masks and lots of Rurell.
