I have never been on the riverboat and we were looking foward to going on it and listening to the 'ghost stories', but it's been confirmed that the rehab will continue until early 2006, so with it down do you thing Disney will have something to replace it?
Thanks!

It doesn't say anything about it being down on the disneyworld.com

I agree, the official site does not list the Riverboat being down for Rehab. Does anyone know if this will affect Tom Sawyer's Island too? TIA

Labor Day weekend, the Liberty Belle being out behind City Hall surprised even the Cast Member escorting me. Maybe Disney doesn't know it's not operating?

the rehab is only supposed to last till mid september... where did the 2006 info come from?

That is what Disney is now saying. It will be out of service until Spring 2006.

Yes, the Liberty Belle is down for a major rehab--apparently when they dry docked her, they found she needed a lot more work than was originally anticipated.

This will not impact Tom Sawyer's Island, as the Belle did not unload passengers there. She simply circled around the island. TSI is accessed via 'rafts' that ferry visitors back and forth.

Bummer, I wanted to check it out during MNSSHP, oh well at least I know now so I won't be let down in the park. :sad1: Thanks for the info!

:confused3

Where is this information coming from? I can't find an official confirmation that it is and will be closed for MNSSHP or until 2006. Is there an official statement anywhere to confirm this being closed until 2006?

I'm anxious to hear the real answer on this one - the riverboat was the one and only thing we didn't ride on last yr's trip, and I was looking forward to it! I guess there's my reason for going again next year, right? :cheer2:

The boat is GONE!! It is on the back service river behind Frontierland. They are working on it or were last week when I was there. Definitely will not be up and running for MNSSHP, I heard that from CM Auntie Bellum who usually does the stories on the boat for the party.

aww man. first living seas is closed and now the liberty belle. what's next? thanks for the heads up though guys. i appreciate it.

i looked on allearsnet and they said that the liberty belle was closed for rehab until september 14. so that means it should be open now. yeah!!

And on this site under "Disney World Closings, Disney Rehabs" it also says:

Magic Kingdom Park

The Haunted Mansion closed from 11/6 - 11/16
Liberty Square Riverboat closed from 9/11 - 9/19/05
Carousel of Progress: Seasonal Operation--currently operating.
Timekeeper: Seasonal Operation - Check guide map

And it doesn't say anything on Disney's site. (Of course it didn't even say it was closed from 9/11 - 9/19)

WIll she be out somewhere else during the party, maybe? we LOVE her, as well as the musicians that play on the MNSSHP cruise...

Not sure why the official site hasn't caught up on the rehab news. It is on several reliable sites that the boat will be down through the rest of 2005.
