With the return of EE, should I change my itinerary?

I'm sorry I have posted this on the wrong board! We are going to WDW in October. We are going to MK on Thursday and staying on for MNSSHP that evening. We were then going to go to MGM on Friday, and Epcot on Saturday. My question is whether we should now go to MGM on Saturday instead to take advantage of EE on that day, and go to Epcot on Friday? I thought that Friday might be better for MGM since it might be less crowded than on Saturday, but I don't know if we should pass up the opportunity to use EE on Friday. I know that EE sometimes makes the selected park more crowded, so I am leaning towards still going to MGM on Friday, and passing up our chance to utilize EE. Any suggestions? Thanks!

How do you know which park will open early on a specific day? Has Disney given that information yet?

If I wanted to go to the Studios with EE, I'd do so and then switch half way during the day and take the boat to Epcot around lunch time. Or if Epcot was the EE park I wanted, I'd reverse the process.

Until you know the actual schedule, I'd sit tight. I called CRO and asked and they had no info. CM said it wasn't starting until December!

I called back and a different CM not only knew what I meant, he gave me the daily schedule. Sometimes calling back makes all the difference!

This was on the home page of this very website:

Disney Announces "Extra Magic Hour"!

Disney is bringing back early entry as the "Extra Magic
Hour" as of October 1, 2002. This feature is for Disney
Resort guests only and includes guests staying at the
Walt Disney World Swan/Dolphin Hotels and the Hilton
at Lake Buena Vista Hotel. The "Extra Magic Hour" will
be one hour prior to the regularly scheduled park
opening hours on specific dates. Please note below
each park's scheduled "Extra Magic Hour" days are as
follows:

Sunday -----Magic Kingdom
Monday -----Disney's Animal Kingdom
Tuesday----- Disney's MGM Studios
Wednesday --Epcot
Thursday -----Magic Kingdom
Friday ---------Disney's Animal Kingdom
Saturday------- Disney's MGM Studios

As part of this change Disney will be discontinuing
their Character Caravan as of September 30, 2002. This
will be the final day for the caravan.

I also called and confirmed with WDW dining.

MK- Sunday and Thursday
MGM Tuesday and Saturday
AK- Monday and Friday
Epcot Wednesday.

I hope this helps.

This may not be a popular view but I say, stick with your original plan. I'm all for Early Entry and everything but it is only an extra hour at this point. It used to be an hour and a half. I say this now because you have already planned things out, as opposed to not having planned things out. You have gone to the trouble of setting your schedule and seem to be content with it. Is the extra hour worth it? That's the differential you have to look at.

The pessimist in me wonders if this will be abused, i.e., the park opens an hour early for regular guests but around 15 minutes before original start time they start letting regular guests in.

It is up to you what you feel best makes you happy.

WL in 3 DAYS!

Glad someone brought this up. I just checked my schedule and everything is good. Thanks for reminding me! ::smooth:

The new EE schedule doesn't work at all with the plans we have made. We've decided not to change them. I'm sure it'll be fine :D .
