We are going to Disney again Aug 2008 I am thinking about buying our park passes today . What does everyone else think?

Can you purchase your tickets this far in advance? I hear the dollar will only get better by summer end. But if you don't want to take a chance, it should be good.

Yes you can buy tickets and use them 10yrs from now or longer as long as they are not activated. I was was thinking also of trying to possably beat a price increase.

We still have two APs to buy, and were going to put them on the Visa when we get there in July, but with the dollar so good, I exchanged enough money for them today - will still buy them in July but have the exchanged $$ in hand so it won't go through the Visa exchange in case it goes back up. When we went for Christmas in '99 we paid .64 for every dollar - yikes!:scared1: And we paid .37 for every dollar when we bought DVC - sure wish we could add on now!

I don't think you should worry, they are expecting the $ to only go up this summer.

Kazzy:hippie:

When the $$ is this good it is hard to wait ... we didn't ... we just bought our park passes last week for Jan 08 trip...if the $$ goes higher well that's a bonus when you go to exchange money for spending...if it stays the same...no loss...if it goes down well then you are ahead of the game.....and it feels awsome to have those park passes!! just makes it all the more real!

DH & I are going in August 2008 as well for 2 weeks (although this was planned way before the dollar got better) we are going to wait thought o buy our tickets until this summer (we just don't have the money right now). Also, we are planning on doing the DDP and staying onsite so we may just wait until all the 2008 prices get out!! (Maybe we'll just buy some US dollars and put them in the US bank account, therefore no matter how the dollar goes we'll have American $$!! :)

I just bought 200 points from a friend. I don't know when we will go ,but the dollar is so good. I payed $1.0905. Not bad compared to several years when we paid .62 and .48 on the dollar.

We just bought a AKV add-on. Were probably going to do it anyway but the good $$ helped us not feel bad about forking out the money.

We are also staying on site not sure where yet . We were considering the DDP but I heard that the tip will no longer be included so I just don't like the extra expense.

oh, when will this take place?

Oh how I wish I had the money to invest in DVC,,maybe if I got a "TAG" I'd have good luck ;)
with the dollar being so high it's a great time,,just have to hope my property in Peterbourgh sells soon.
Hugs Mel

Holy Crapola! Do I know when to plan a trip or WHAT? I leave to Disney tomorrow and I haven't changed ANY money yet. And this trip is room only so I'm paying the balance on arrival. YEE HAW.

The difference between the $ from when I booked this trip.. to now.. is :

Today at TD Canada 1$ US = 1.1048 Canadian
At time of Booking : 1$ US = 1.1473 Canadian

Life -- is good !

Dh and I switched over some money we had just incase we decide to go, or just go to Buffalo for the weekend even.
We have been talking about going this winter with DS again even though we thought we would take a year off and stuff.
But with the dollar the way it is...:confused3
