How does Disney know who is really in the rooms? I know it’s kind of the sign of the times and all, but it seems a little sketch to me

They don't know, but as a PP pointed out, they never knew. You could check in at the front desk as a solo traveler, then bring 5 family members to stay in your room. I do not advocate that, but it's always been possible.
To get package benefits, that's another story, yes. I was referring to being able to simply have others stay in the room. Before or maybe even just after our first trip in 2010, if you were staying on a free dining package you had to have everyone at checkin. FWIW.
DVC has been skipping the front desk for what I think is a couple of years already. The only time we hit the front desk is if there's some kind of problem. I don't particularly like it, but it's what they do.How does Disney know who is really in the rooms? I know it’s kind of the sign of the times and all, but it seems a little sketch to me![]()
We'd done that, too, but the last time we were at DVC overnight was in February, and the returning guest gate didn't work with our magic bands and we were told we needed to go to the guard shack on the first entry.Since online check-in started we select an early arrival time..open the MDE app when we get on property...we usually get our text that our room is ready and if it is then we don't even go to the guard shack, we just use the returning guests gate with our magic band and then go right to our room.
