With less than a month to go before a cruise...

...and more than 50 staterooms still available on the website, how does Disney try to get those sold? I've been waiting for a VGT rate to come out, but it hasn't. There are CDN and MTO rates, but there have never been *GT rates offered. Should I just give up on going on this cruise? The current rates are much more than we are willing to spend.

Should I just give up and book something else for that week? Or is there any hope of *GT rates still coming out?

Often, when filling those last, remaining rooms, if DCL offers a discount it's usually just one of them (military, *GT, florida, cast member, whatever). Sometimes they'll do two. But they don't do all of them.

Years ago a crew member I knew said that at least when they were on the ship, DCL didn't necessarily try to fill EVERY single cabin. Having a few cabins empty gives them the option to move someone to a different cabin if necessary or offer upgrades at port.
