WISHWalker Marathoners- some info from Kamy! (UPDATED with new info)

I finally got a reply from Kamy about what's happening.

What's happening with Kamy??? Well- she's moved her little ol' self down to Florida and is not moving into her new home until the second week in September. She finally got a job, but is unable to use her computer at work for personal business (GOSH! What'll be next- they'll only let you take 30 minutes for lunch!?!?!?) , and because she isn't in her house yet, has no access to a computer on a regular basis. She says to tell you that she is working hard on the events for WISHCon and that she hasn't forgotten about us.

Kamy also asked me to pass along this info for anyone that hasn't done so yet, to make their ressies for the rooms. There are still rooms available. Please send ressie requests to:

I gave Kamy the suggestion about having an event outside the parks- Don't know what she'll do, but I did pass the info along.

Hope that helps some of you. I know it's not much, but it is something. Hopefully we can expect details by mid September.

I got another email f rom Kamy this afternoon. Here's what she said:

The tenative schedule is as floows:

Fri day Evening- Informal Night Cap at 10pm at a Resort- To be determined.

Saturday morning- Welcome Reception at PI- 10am

Sunday - Race and Farewell Dinner outside of the parks- site to be determined.

So there you have it- all the info I gathered was WRONG!!! HA!! Just goes to show you not to try to second guess and do your own research!!! BUT what is good is that these events will all take place outside of the parks- which is what several people had requested! I think that's great because now we don't have to use a park pass to go to these events.

Also- as far as t-shirts are concedrned- we're thinking about the idea of designing a logo for us and emailing the logo to everyone that wants one. Then, you can print this logo onto an iron on transfer and iron it onto your own shirt. How do you all feel about this?

I am not a marathoner, but am so glad to hear that Kamy is doing okay. She and I were moving around the same time and I had wondered if she had made it to her destination....and now I know. Thanks!

btw -- will I need a plus option on my park hopper to get into PI, right? I usually get the length-of-stay so park hoppers are new to me.

Sounds like fun! I'm really looking forward to this. I have to get on ebay and sell some household stuff and clothing so that I'll have the spending money necessary for this trip.

Mom- I think you only need a plus option for PI if you're going at night- this is supposed to be in the morning, so I think there is no charge. Does anyone know for sure?

I think WISH Walkers is great but I think we have some runners in the group so that may not work.

Let us know because I love ordering t-shirts. We finally got our "family" shirts from Disney and they are awesome.

Now to be able to finish this in the required time.

Does anyone know if you still get the Donald medal even if you finish later than the 3 1/2 hours??

Having a logo designed to use as an iron on sounds like a great idea.

A bit off topic but after reading that Kamy lives in FL now has me adding her to my prayers that she and Beth (trola2) and all the other people who live in and are vacationing in FL will be kept safe these next few days as it looks like Hurricane Frances is going to hit FL hard.

Susan...I don't think you get the Donald unless you cross the finish line...you can't finish it after 3.5 hours because if you fall off pace they pick you up and won't let you finish! AAAGHHH!!! That's my greatest fear....I think on our T-shirts we should put on the back so the bus sees it "You're not picking me up..."HONK" and I'll go faster!!!"

I also think it would be great to have walkie talkies to kind of have a commando leader who would shout drills to us to keep our minds focused! I'll take whatever I can get! It would really help if they had M&M stations to keep me motivated...just kidding!
