I have a question for brides who have had a custom wedding. How many people did you invite and how much did it cost? I have to have a disney wedding, we both have very large families. We did a guest count of only our family members and best friends who would def. come and we got about 120 including children and dates of friends. This is better than if we were to have the wedding close to either of our homes (we live 8 hours apart) where we would have to invite parents friends, and others who would be upset if they were not invited. This way we can invite them, but no that they have no intention of coming the distance to disney from pittsburgh and upstate new york. It will be better also because only the people we truly want to be there will come and I wont have to deal with my crazy aunt, who hates me, but would come if it were at home just to upset my family. I am trying to grasp if I can afford to have a wedding at disney for about 120 people. I have done the guest book and with just the bare minimun for this amount of people I came up with a cost of over 40,000 and i could have a wedding at home for less than that with more people. My parents will be helping us out, but as of right now, I am not sure how much and would like to know what you all paid to see if I can get a grasp on if my dream can even come true. I was thinking of having an intimate, but not having all of my grandparents, or best friends with me since my boyfriend has a huge immediate family, so I would have to give up some grandparents since his brothers and sisters and step parents can come and his grandparents would not be able to at all, and this would just crush our family. I am also the only girl grandchild on my side so this is a big deal for my family. I know that my family will help out, but I don't want to break them because of a wedding, and i want to also help out as much as I can, but still being in college doesnt give me many resources. Any help would be very appreciated!

I am not having no where near your number, but I already see with my small number that not everyone can attend. I know that a lot of other couples in this board had large guests lists, but a lot couldn't attend. You might want to find out how many would make the trip before rule out the Disney wedding.

Keep in mind even a regular wedding has a turn down rate of about 20 per 200 (avg. in my experience, about 2 doz. weddings)

Check out mousesavers.com, (no idea how to post links) they have great ideas for a disney wedding w/o breaking the bank. I love the idea of a lunch reception, just b/c I love the natural light streaming in through the windows.

My GF (I'm helping a disney bride) has a $15,000 budget for about 50 guests, but she's also doing alot of expensive options (carriage, the pavillion) Anything is possible if you snoop around!

If i were you i would have the wedding at Disneyworld

but if i was inyour situation i would still go with the wishes wedding.
