Wishes Wedding Lottery Calendar??

We're interested in having a Wishes Wedding on Friday, June, 26, 2009. We're completely aware that June weddings are certainly harder to book but our sales consultant said since it's a Friday and not a Saturday it's a little easier to secure. We reeeeeeeally want the noon ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, Living Seas reception and dessert party at the UK Lower Terrace.

She emailed me a timeline and said that during our initial appointment, we'll finalize our three choices for our event information then they'll be added to our "lottery calendar" to prepare for the date we want. Then on the Monday following, the lottery for that weekend takes place and that afternoon she'll let us know what location we've received and she'll request space on that date for those locations.

Has this happened to anyone else? How does it work? Is it literally like drawing names out of a hat or are there certain criteria that go into it? Also, how likely is it that you'll get your first choices?

Any information on this would be extremely helpful so we can prepare for what to expect. THANKS!!

I was involved in two lotterys before finally securing my date. We originally wanted Feb. 7, 2009, but we lost that lottery and ended up with Feb. 21. From what I was told by my coordinator, they literally pull names out of a hat...its nothing special. As far as being able to secure your first choice, that depends on your luck. But, because you are planning to have your wedding on a Friday, it shouldn't be too bad. Saturdays are the most popular days.

The lottery can be very nerve-racking if you have your heart set on a specific date. But always know, that even if you don't get your first choice, you will ultimately end up with a wedding date.

As far as the ease of securing a location or a date, well, that just depends on the popularity of the location (the Wedding Pavilian being the most popular) and the day of the week (Saturday being the most popular).

Thank you for that. I have been having anxiety attacks like crazy lately and now that I know that, I feel better. It would stink to get a different date (we wanted a tuesday) but we'll see...
