I'm hoping to have a dessert party but i prefer the wishes fireworks. I know you can have a dessert party from Sago Cay but I wondered about the Grand 1. But for both venues I'm worried about the view for the fireworks, has anyone done the cruise and what was the view like?

has anyone had their dessert party on the grand 1?

We did the Grand 1 for the Wishes. The view is great. You are dead smack in the middle of the lake in front of the train station. They pump in the music from the park so you get the full affect. It was fun but nothing beats our dessert party! Our guest still talk about it and it was 2 years ago now. Time flies.

We were originally doing a wishes wedding with an outdoor reception in EPCOT at the French Island for illuminations. When we downgraded to an Escape, we did dinner and then a Wishes cruise. I think the reception or a dessert party would have been amazing, but so was the cruise. Our guests still mention how much fun that was and we're 18 months past our wedding. Most guests won't know either is even an option (even my aunt and uncle who live in FL and own DVC didn't know) so they'll be impressed no matter what you do. They all loved that when we went over to the marina and saw all the other people getitng onto pontoons, we were the ones getting on the yacht :rotfl: The cruise around the 7 seas lagoon and bay lake was a lot of fun and then we had the prime spot to watch Wishes with the music and all. We stayed out for the electric water pagent and then went back in after all the pontoons were already docked and unloaded. If you want Wishes I highly recommend it. I wouldn't do much in the way of food or drinks though, especially if you've recenly fed your guests. We had LOTS of cake, then took everyone to Narcoossee's for a 4 or 5 course meal with more dessert, then straight to the Grand 1. Everyone stayed outside on the decks the whole hour and a half we were on board, so between them being full and never really going inside, I doubt any desserts would have been eaten, and they're VERY expensive!
