It's been years since I've been to MK. Now that we have DS (2), we'll be spending a lot of time there.

We'll be there in Sept. the park hours are listed as being 9a.m. to 7p.m. but there is listed as having a Wishes show at 10p.m.

We're staying off property. Is the park really open until 10p.m. or do things kind of close down and you just get a late dinner or something for the between time and then stake out your spot for the show? Are off property people able to go to Wishes?

Finally, is it worth it to keep a toddler up that late? DS usually is not asleep at home until 9:30 and that's a struggle to get him to sleep then. So he's a bit of a night owl. How is the show? We usually make Fantasmic our must see show, it sounds like Wishes is a bit similar?

Thanks

I just looked it up on the WDW website and MK hours are showing open until 10PM. Maybe you are looking at a generic schedule. I know it does not apply since you are offsite, but Sundays are usually EMH nights at MK as well so they may be open even later for those on site guests.

Wishes is a good show with music and fireworks. Definitely a must do at least once while we are visiting.

If I recall (we haven't been in a while), during the 10pm show, the rest of the park is closed or closing, because immediately after the show, they start trying to herd people out of the park.

When we last went, we had a 2yo, and she was asleep during Wishes (which is my FAVORITE nighttime show and is totally worth it). You might find that your little one gets worn out much earlier than at home, because you're constantly on the go during the day...

Thanks, it's still showing 9-7 on Disney World's site and on the mobile app (My Disney Experience) for me when I look at Sept. 19 and 26. But it does list Wishes. Weird.

Thanks for letting me know about the show. I think we'll play by ear and see how DS is doing if we stay for it.

Those two dates are Friday nights. Late September and October, Friday nights are reserved for the MNSSHP and MK closes at 7PM. They do have the fireworks, but it is the Hallowishes show specifically for party guests. Sorry. During that week, the nights to see the regular Wishes are: 9/20, 9/22, 9/24, 9/25, 9/27. All other nights are MNSSHP nights.

In our experience, on non party nights (especially weekends) MK gets REALLY busy for the parades and Wishes. Because the days to see them are so limited with the parties, everyone is forced to go on certain days if they want to see them. Find a spot early on those nights to make sure you get a decent viewing spot. Expect it to get busy. We were always there in October so maybe September won't be was bad.

Good luck

That makes so much more sense! I bet the app (which is what kept saying we could do Wishes on those nights) hasn't been updated or something. Hadn't even thought about those being party nights. We'd scheduled to go to the party on Tuesday and once that was done, any other party nights went out of my head.

Thanks!

With the party going on, you might plan to watch Wishes from somewhere else, like the Poly or GF beach or TTC, in combination with a dinner at one of those resorts.
