Wishes Preferred Viewing area: DO NOT USE!!!

I've also written this my trip report but just wanted to make sure as many people as possible would read this.

We booked our trip through Disney UK and because we stayed at a moderate resort we got some vouchers for preferred fireworks viewing for Illuminations and Wishes. The Illuminations area was really good, it was at the Morroco boat landing. The location for Wishes however was the biggest dissappointment of the whole trip. It really sucked, truly awful. It was on the terras in front of the ice cream parlour, left of the noodle station. Your view is blocked by 2 big trees, you can bearly see the castle. And they didn't even turn down the lights! We complained afterwards at guest relations in the park. To our surprise they have know it's a bad spot for years now but management still hasn't bothered changing it. We were given the contact details to complain directly and emailed them but we still haven't received a reply and it's more than a week since we sent it. Really, I can't stress enough how bad this was so stay clear of it (I will actually put this in a seperate thread so more people will see it).

Thanks very much - that's really interesting to hear. I'd been wondering where the preferred viewing areas were.

My parents (who live in America) are hugely jealous of my preferred viewing status for our trip in October. I'll tell them about the choice location in Epcot, but I'll keep the poor MK one to myself!

thanks for that information we are planning our 2009 trip and were looking at booking with disney uk and were intersted in the preferred fireworks, but may just steer clear of the Mk one if we do book with them!!

What a shame you had such a poor view, and shame on them for knowing it was a poor area to view and still sending people there.

Is the location at the MK still so bad? Or are there any changes?

Are there other advices you could give me for our preferred viewing area vouchers that we have for our next trip?

As far as I know they have not changed the locations - so I would steer clear of the Magic Kingdom one, and book into the Epcot one as that seems to get good reviews

I haven't had my vouchers through yet so not sure how you use them do you need to call and reserve your spot or just turn up on the night? (I will only use the Epcot one )

This would have been my next question. How can I book this if I don't have my vouchers until two weeks before the vacation starts.

I booked my illuminations one months ago. You don't actually need the voucher to book. Just phone Disney UK, say you have a package and want to book your Illuminations viewing and they will do it for you.

how many people can fit into the illuminations reserved viewing area? do you still need to get there early to get a front row pitch

We were there a couple of weeks ago and in Epcot we saw an area roped off and a CM stopping people going in (there was absolutely no one in it) I wondered if it was the preferred viewing area as it was near a dock.
