wow! those r amazing pictures, i know my mom and dad both got some good ones, but those r amazing also. u have to get the timing right and u can get great pictures

D4D -- I let the camera do most of the work to capture these shots. We bought a Canon PowerShot G2 about a year and a half ago. I turned off the flash, set up the tripod and let the camera pick the settings. Then, I just clicked away throughout Wishes. The hardest part was probably finding a spot where heads would not be in the way. We found a spot right as you approach the Partners statue behind a trash can and landscaping. Nobody could get in front of us and the location provided a great view of the castle and the fireworks. I probably have about 50 digital photos of the show. Some better than others, obviously.

Thanks for sharing! Those are awesome pictures I was never quite able to get the timing right on my pictures... I would always snap a picture just a second before or a second after the fireworks. D'oh

FYI on picture taking...

Many people use the automatic adjustment cameras. When you let the camera decide the settings, then each shot actually takes a setup period, then a picture taking period. By the time the "shutter" snaps, the picture you wanted has already past.

There are two ways around this that I know of:
1) Most auto cameras allow you to push the shutter button partially down and let it figure out all the settings, then when you see the picture you want, push the button the rest of the way down.
2) Otherwise read the settings your camera is using (if it shoes them to you) then manually put those settings in, and snap pictures to your hearts content.

A half-second delay can really thow off a picture.

I suggest if you are using a film camera with manual settings. Take a look around the web for suggestions on taking pics of fireworks. If you find 3 sites they will most likely tell you 3 different things. Then take a whole roll of pics of one display with a couple of different settings. Then drop the film off at home for some cheap developing. You are only out a couple of bucks between film and developing and if you get 1 or 2 good pictures thats all you really need for an album or scrapbook.

There are 2 picture on this link (one in the EPCOT section, and one in the MK section) they are scans of 35mm prints that I got a couple of years ago using my "click away" method.

If you have a digital camera, snap away and play with the settings. Take as many pictures as it takes and later delete all the bad ones.

I was able to get some great pics last year with a digital, someday (maybe after this trip... WOW! Look at that countdown! I really should be packing right now) I get around to updating/adding pictures.

What beautiful pictures! I really love the one where the castle is purple and red looking! I sure wish my night time pictures would turn out like that. You did a great job, taking these pictures! Just looking at this pictures makes me want to be there right now( all though I wish, I was there all the time)! I miss Disney World so much, I hope we will get to go in Oct.2004!
