Wishes - Narcossees or California Grill

I will be with 2 children 4 and 7. Which restaurant gives a view of Wishes? If they both do, which one is better? Both menus look great.

I've honestly never eaten at Narcoossees, but CG has an awesome view out on their viewing platform & they pump in the music. It's actually my kids favorite restaurant since they bring out gold fish for them to snack on, they can draw all over the white paper table cloths & the kid's sushi dessert (rice krispie treats, swedish fish & fruit roll-ups) is my DS's must have at WDW!

Both places have views. Both places also have the majority of their tables without views. You cannot make reservations there and go in counting on getting a window table or you are setting yourself up for a letdown. Ca Grill has the viewing platforms outside on the ledge, Narcoosees has the dock outside. Both areas provide nice viewing for the majority of diners who were not lucky enough to snag a window seat. If you are nervous about heights, though, I would not do Ca Grill because you are "up there" when you go out onto those platforms.

I would definitely choose based on the menu and not on the view. We just returned 2 weeks ago and ate at Ca Grill. We had to wait an hour past our ADR time to get a table. The waiting area is small and congested. I was certainly glad that we were an all adult party and I didn't have to keep my small children entertained in that little postage stamp sized space for an hour waiting on a table. Others have also recently posted that the table wait times are getting worse and worse there because people are dining 2.5 hours before fireworks but are sticking around and keeping their table in order to watch the fireworks. I have no idea if Narcoosees is getting that bad also since we have not eaten there in recent trips (better fish/seafood at another place that we prefer).

I hope you enjoy the food and the fireworks from whichever location you choose.

I've eaten at both, and seen the fireworks from both. I'd definitely choose Narcoose's.

Most likely you WON'T get a table with a view at either place. So it's a choice if you like watching the fireworks from ground level (Narcoossee's) or 15 stories up ( California Grill). View wise I prefer Narcoossee's. For food and service, California Grill is much the better restaurant.

We ate at Narcoossee's, great food, fantastic service. You can go out to the deck for a wonderful Wishes viewing experience; music and all.

You get an added bonus at Narcoossee's: you can also see the Electric Water Parade on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Our 6yo went crazy over this. I think with the ages of your children you'd get a similar reaction. It was easy to see the parade from our table. my mother and nephew went out to the deck for closer view, but I stayed put. I headed out for Wishes then they joined me.
