I have read that a few folks have seen Wishes from the restaurant. Any tips for getting the good table??:teeth:

Also, is it crowded on the 4th and 5th floor balconys (in case we dont get that good table!)??

Thanks,
Danielle::MinnieMo

OOPs! My mistake, I guess I thought I read that you could see them somewhere:confused:

I have read that a few folks have seen Wishes from the restaurant.
It is at the opposite end of the Contemporary. I think that would be a "No".
Also, is it crowded on the 4th and 5th floor balconys
No.

Welcome to the DIS, I'm very glad you found us and I hope you can visit often.

I'm going to move this to our restaurants board for you. I'm sure the experts there can answer your question.

Wow Dznefreek

I was a bit nervous posting a question and I was hoping that a friendly someone would help out a newbie.

Your post actually made be feel embarassed and stupid.

I have read so many different things that I must have gotten them confused. I think that maybe I will just be a "reader" from now on.

I even went so far as to edit my original.

Danielle_lynn,

Sorry that response made you feel stupid. I don't think it was intended that way!

WELCOME!!!

I don't think you can see the castle from Chef Mickey's, but I've only been there once. I haven't been to the observation decks.

Sorry I'm no help!

I don't think you can see Wishes from Chef Mickey's.

But I do know you can see them from 'Ohanna Restaurant in the Poly. We were just there last week Feb 12th for our 32nd wedding anniversary. We watched Wishes while we dined. They turn the lights down and they play the soundtrack to the fireworks. It was real nice!

Welcome to the DIS, Danielle!

Please don't feel embarrassed, everybody is here to help and we welcome your questions here.

I think you may have read that you can see Wishes from the California Grill, the restaurant on the top floor of the Contemporary. You can also see the fireworks from Narcoosees at the Grand Floridian and 'Ohana at the Polynesian.

I think they're really best viewed from the park for the complete experience, but that's just me. :)

Danielle,
Your not stupid! If that question makes you stupid, then I'm a raving lunitic! ( and I can't spell either) Last yr when I came on here for information, I asked every off the wall question I needed an answer to. AND EVERYONE was so terribly nice!! and answered all my lame questions, and trust me I had plenty of them. We had never been to Disney and I wanted to make sure I got some things right, esp. the restaurants, that can make or break a great vacation!
SOOOOOOO Danielle, you ask away girl. Ask what color the grass is at Disney and some nice person will answer it like it's the most normal question in the world! I guarantee that's how 90% of the people on here came by their "knowledge". I know I did. I would have been a basket case without these people on here. Not to mention a lousy vacation.
If I can help you, and you don't want to post it, then PM me, (private message)

Thanks for all your wonderful ideas! (and sweet comments;) )

I have found these forums to be a wonderful resource in planning my trip.

Looking forward to many hours of happy reading and planning.
Thanks for being so welcoming!!

Danielle,

Don't worry about the first person who responded! There are plenty of people here who can answer just about any Disney question :)

Now, as for your question... I am pretty sure that 4th floor doesn't have a balcony-- it is not a regular floor, it just has shops and restaurants. On the level where you catch the monorail, you can see out to the castle-- but you probably don't want to go up there to watch the fireworks. Chef Mickeys is at the opposite end from the castle, so you wouldn't be able to see if from there. You could go up to the 15th floor and watch from the observation deck (free!)-- you could also book the Cali Grill (Seriously Yummy! and my fave) and request FW seating, and time it to be there for the FW.

Now, if this is the only time you will see Wishes, you will be doing yourself a terrible dis-service! The music from Wishes is great! and being in the park is simply the best! It seems like the best view can be had from the middle of main street near the bakery or ice cream shop :) You can grab a bite to eat in the park -- I was just there last weekend, and on my last night I grabbed a sandwhich from the bakery and stood in the middle of the street, ate and watched the Fireworks!

Hope this helps!

Here's another vote for seeing it in the MK. We had dinner at Chef Mickeys on our first night. Then we took the elevator up to the 15th floor and went outside on the deck to watch. They have the music playing out there, and you can see the fireworks very well. However, a few nights later, we were in the MK for Wishes, and it was soooo much better. Enjoy!

Although we've never seen the fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck, others have talked about it. Walk toward the toy store/news stand and ask CMs around there. It should be in the corner by the news stand .

I agree that WISHES is better seen from a more centrally located spot. Best of all would be MK!

Hopefully the first responder was just trying to be funny...anyway, welcome to the DIS and don't be afraid to ask anything. We all learn from each other all the time!:grouphug:
