Can anyone show me some examples/offer any advice on shooting Wishes from behind the castle?

The reason I ask is we have a 6:10 ADR for BOG and I'm fairly certain that we'll be there until 7:30-7:45 (my daughters are slow eaters and I don't want to rush the BOG experience). Even in early February, I don't think we'll have time to get around to the front of the castle and snag a good spot for the show.

My solution is to just walk out of BOG, set up my tripod and shoot somewhere in that area, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience shooting back there? I assume it's less crowded. Any tips on where to set up would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if there is a way to incorporate the carousel and Philharmagic into the shot, even better.

Thanks in advance.

The New Fantasyland area is full of creative possibilities for shooting Wishes. It's less crowded during the show and setting up your tripod should be easy.

Several big bursts are shot from an area behind Beast's Castle/BOG so this should figure prominently in your composition. The bursts near Cinderella's castle can also be a source of fill light for your foreground elements.

Some examples from my 2 trips this year:

Good luck!

Edit: If you want to incorporate the carousel and Philharmagic (facing the back of Cinderella's castle) you will miss the really big bursts that will be shot from behind Beast's Castle.

Behind the castle gives a different viewpoint and Wishes can take on a new look. The first two are from New Fantasyland, they were taken handheld so sharpness is not good but it gives the idea of what we can get from there.

This one is obviously from near the carrousel and I had a tripod.

As mentioned, you would need your back to the castle to see and big fireworks. Facing the castle, you could get a stream of the side fireworks.

I noticed that the new castle walls with their own spires (ie as you walk from pooh to the carousel) make a nice subject for the big bursts. I took one shot handheld, but its way to blurry to put with the above outstanding shots.

You should post these, they're really good!

Allen, the fireworks from The Little Mermaid are awesome.

Thanks everyone and great pics!

Can anyone tell me where the fireworks launch from?
